All you need to do is take a comfortable position and have some free time.

What location is the easiest to farm souls in?

The Bell Tower is one of the best locations for collecting resources. Any strong enemy can be killed by simply jumping into the abyss. This way you will lose a little health, but will avoid a grueling battle and instantly receive a reward for the defeated enemy. In addition, there are floating platforms that break the developers' idea a little.

Once here, get rid of the monster in front of you. This can be done in the standard way, or simply run past him and jump off the platform. After this, go to the Umbral Dimension.

Then move right to the floating platform. You need to pull it and then move to the center towards the column. It will protect you from flying projectiles if you decide not to clear the area.
