Hwei skills and spells: Easy and detailed explanation of the new LoL champion

Hwei, the midlaner mage from Iona uses paint to inflict damage, grant shields to his allies, and even control the thoughts of his opponents! With a combo of more than ten possible spells and a breathtaking ultimate, don't underestimate the power of an artist who wants to express themselves.

Passive - Signature of the Visionary 

Hwei's offensive abilities against enemy champions mark them for a few seconds. Touching enemies marked with another skill creates an explosion beneath them, triggering after a short delay and dealing magic damage to all enemies within range.


AR/ZR/ER - Washing Brush

Hwei cleans his brush and resets his basic skills without using mana or cooldown.


A - Disaster

AA - Devastating Fire

Hwei paints a fiery ball of fire that flies in the targeted direction. It explodes on the first enemy hit or at maximum range, dealing magic damage plus magic damage equal to a percentage of max HP to all enemies in the area.


AZ - Severing Bolt

Hwei paints a devastating long-range lightning bolt at the targeted location. After a delay, the lightning strikes, dealing magic damage. Immobilized or isolated enemies take increased damage based on missing HP.


AE - Molten Fissure

Hwei paints a field of explosive volcanic eruptions, creating lingering lava in his path. Each eruption deals magic damage to enemies hit. Enemies in the lava area take magic damage per second and are slowed.


Z - Serenity

ZA - Ephemeral Current

Hwei paints a stream of swift waters in a line for a few seconds, granting movement speed to himself and his allies.


ZZ - Reflection Pool

Hwei creates a protective pool at the targeted location that lasts for a few seconds. Allied champions inside the zone gain an immediate shield, increasing in value over the seconds in the zone.


ZE - Stirring Lights

Hwei paints three swirling lights that surround him for several seconds. Hwei's next 3 attacks or spells deal additional magic damage and grant mana with each hit.


E - Torment

EA - Dark Face

Hwei casts a terrifying face that hits the first enemy hit, dealing magic damage and causing them to flee for a short time.


EZ - Gaze of the Abyss

Hwei paints an Abyssal Eye at the targeted location, granting vision and locking onto the nearest visible enemy champion. After a short delay, the eye fires at the locked champion, stopping the first enemy in its path for a few seconds and dealing magic damage.


EE - Crushing Maw

Hwei paints crushing jaws that deal magic damage to enemies hit and pull them towards the center, slowing them by a fixed amount that quickly decreases.


R - Despair Spiral

Hwei casts a vision of pure despair that attaches itself to an enemy champion for a few seconds. The vision expands and overwhelms all enemies it hits, dealing magic damage per second. Enemies in the area are affected by stacks of Despair over time. Each stack of Despair applies a percentage slow. At the end, the vision breaks, dealing magic damage.


Hwei release date on League of Legends PBE and live servers: when will it be available?

Hwei will be available with League of Legends update 13.24 . Hwei will be available on the PBE test servers from November 21, 2023. We can anticipate its release on the servers in approximately three weeks, at the end of December 2023 or at the latest in early January 2024.
