Shibuya, the scene of a titanic clash between Sukuna and Mahoraga, has captivated fans of Jujutsu Kaisen. How did Sukuna win this fight?

Between adaptation, invocation of the territory, or even occult techniques, you will know everything about the Sukuna vs Mahoraga fight of Jujutsu Kaisen in episode 17 of season 2.

Sukuna vs Mahoraga in Jujutsu Kaisen: detailed explanation of the fight

The duel began with the Scourge attacking, deploying a blade attached to his wrist. However, Sukuna blocked the assault, causing a shockwave that threw Shigemo backward. This first exchange highlighted the raw power of Sukuna, who quickly counterattacked with a series of blows, combining rapid fists and his arcane technique Lacerate.

The confrontation took a fascinating turn when Mahoraga, injured by Sukuna's attacks, revealed the identity of his fearsome weapon: the Sword of Extermination. A cursed weapon emitting positive energy, capable of eliminating any Scourge in a single blow and healing wounds. Sukuna is reassured that, being a human, he is not affected by this particularity of the sword.

The key element of the fight proved to be Mahoraga's uncanny ability to adapt. After each rotation of the Eight-Handled Wheel on his head, Makora could heal all of his injuries and defend against Sukuna's attacks, which were normally invisible. This power of adaptation has evoked comparisons to the mythology of Yamata-no-Orochi.

The confrontation reached its climax when Sukuna, aware of the need to change tactics, deployed his territory expansion, the Demonic Altar. This technique not only decimated Mahoraga, but also left a trail of destruction across Shibuya, encompassing 145 meters around Sukuna.

Despite the devastation caused by the Altar, Mahoraga survived and began to adapt to Sukuna's sharp occult technique. The King of Plagues realized that the key to victory lay in using a different technique. It was then that he invoked his “Fire Arrow” power that he showed us against Jogo, firing a devastating fire arrow that finished Makora, then already very weakened.

While Shibuya bears the scars of this battle, Sukuna emerges triumphant, once again.
