LoL Arena return date: 2v2v2v2 is leaving, but returns later with many changes!

In a recent video, Riot Games revealed that Arena mode will be leaving for a while and coming back even better! We tell you everything.

Arriving recently during the Soul Fighter event, Arena has enjoyed unprecedented success in League of Legends. This 2v2v2v2 mode appeals to players who want quick games where the mechanics and knowledge of your champion are more important than having bad allies.

Initially announced as a temporary mode, players quickly made it clear that they wanted to be able to play it permanently. The LoL developers listened and decided to remove the mode for a while in order to polish it, add augments, and balance certain champions deemed too weak or too strong. We tell you everything about the return date of League of Legends Arena mode!

League of Legends 2v2v2v2 Arena Mode Return Date

Arena mode is back for November 9 on the PBE! We should therefore have it by mid-November on the League of Legends live servers. As a reminder, the 2v2v2v2 mode of League of Legends was an addition for the Spirit Fighters event from July 20 to August 28, 2023. It brought a new line of skins in addition to a new mode.

Plus, there are some pretty incredible new features! Here is the full list of changes:

1. Possibility of tag with 2, 4 or 8 players: One of the most anticipated new features is the possibility of playing with 2, 4 or 8 players. If you opt for a 4-player game, you will even be able to choose which player goes to which team.

2. Two-stage pick phases: The champion selection phases will now be divided into two stages. In the first stage, one player from each team will make a pick, and the choices will be revealed. Then, the second players of each team will be able to make their picks, thus allowing counter-picks and better adaptation to opposing compositions.

3. Appearance of Hexgates: Hexgates, similar to those present on Summoner's Rift, will make their first random appearance on the ARAM map. Players will be able to use them to escape or move, but each use will trigger a cooldown, preventing immediate use.

4. Ally respawn/revive system: When one of your teammates is eliminated, a circle will appear. If you stay in this area long enough, your ally will be able to revive. However, this mechanic can only be used once per round.

5. Combat zones and random spawns: Combat zones will no longer be systematically located in the center of the map. Their location will now be determined randomly, providing more variety and forcing players to constantly adapt. Additionally, the initial spawn of champions will also be random, making each game unique.

6. Champion Cameos: The famous champions Sett, Pyke, Gwen, Sylas and Thresh will appear in this new version of the Arena. Sylas will bring a touch of originality by granting a random ultimate of a champion to each player at the start of the round, thus replacing the Flash summoner spell.

7. Rank reset and MMR adjustment: Ranks and MMR (Matchmaking Rating) from “Season 1” will be partially reset. In addition, Riot Games plans to increase the difficulty to pass the different levels between Gold and Gladiator, in order to offer a more balanced challenge to players.

8. Added 60 AUGMENTS: To further diversify player choices, Arena Season 2 will introduce 60 new AUGMENTS, providing a greater variety of possibilities for customizing your champion's skills.

This is very good news for mode tryhards who are tired of always seeing the same champions played while some champions are abandoned. In short, see you at the beginning of December for the big return of 2v2v2v2: Arena mode on League of Legends!
