Some key information on the O2 Arena...

The O2 Arena in London is an iconic, multi-functional venue located in the center of the Greenwich Peninsula entertainment district. Opened in its current form in 2007, the O2 Arena is the second largest indoor venue in the UK, second only to the Manchester Arena. In 2008, it was the busiest music arena in the world.

Nicknamed The Dome due to the domed structure under which it was built for the Millennium Exhibition, the O2 Arena is a true architectural gem. With a diameter of 365 meters and a height of 52 meters, it is one of the largest buildings in the world in terms of volume. Sponsored by O2, a subsidiary of Virgin Media O2, the arena has hosted major events and performances from renowned artists.

The O2 Arena has seen legends such as Prince, who performed a series of 21 sold-out concerts there in 2007. Michael Jackson had also planned a 50-show residency in 2009, which was canceled following his death. Since 2013, it has hosted C2C: Country to Country, Europe's largest country music festival. Major sporting events, such as the ATP World Tour Finals and major boxing matches, have also taken place in this arena.

The O2 Arena has also been the scene of historic moments, such as JoJo Siwa's concert in 2019, making her the youngest artist to perform there, or the Shields versus Marshall boxing match, the first boxing event female headliner at a major venue in the UK.

The choice of the O2 arena for the LoL Worlds 2024 final is another step towards excellence and expanding the influence of LoL Esports on the international scene. With its world-class facilities and rich history of major events, London is gearing up to welcome the crème de la crème of the League of Legends world. It will be an unforgettable moment for players, fans and all those who passionately follow the world of gaming.
