No Man's Sky: ALL Exosuit Upgrades and How to Get Them

These are all the technological improvements that we can apply to the exosuit in No Man's Sky and their methods of obtaining. Guarantee your survival by improving your character's suit.

The exosuit is one of the main survival elements that we have from the first moment in No Man's Sky to travel the universe and that is essential to explore planets or combat. In this entry of our guide, we are going to show you what are all the technology improvements that exist for the exosuit and we will also tell you how you can get them, as well as how to obtain improvement modules that will allow you to greatly increase your chances of surviving in the environments. most dangerous in the galaxy.

All Exosuit technology upgrades

In No Man's Sky you can get new Exosuit technology upgrades by visiting the Space Anomaly whenever you want and going to trade with the Iteration character: Selene.

All Exosuit technology upgrades

Selene has a whole series of upgrade plans for sale for the exosuit that she sells in exchange for nanites . Some of these upgrades are already installed by default on your exosuit, such as Life Support or the Jetpack, but the vast majority have to be purchased. As you can see in this trade menu, there are also locked improvements that require you to previously purchase previous ones to have access to them.

Therefore, now you know that to upgrade your suit and install new advanced technologies you must purchase the plans for these upgrades from Selene. After unlocking the respective blueprint for each upgrade, you will be able to craft it in a free space on your exosuit if you have the necessary resources or raw materials.

Below we show you the characteristics of all the technology upgrades for the exosuit in No Man's Sky, there are a total of 22 available:

  • Life Support: The core of the exosuit, the life support system that continually pumps and filters breathable oxygen. In addition to its role in the exosuit wearer's continued existence, the life support unit uses excess oxygen to generate power for secondary systems such as the jetpack, speed boost, and flashlight.
  • NBC Glove: Improves the metal shield of the exosuit gloves. An advanced blend of reinforced metal and catalytic protection that allows the user to safely handle hazardous substances and perform the feats of strength necessary to harvest certain cultivable flora.
    • Personal Refinery: A compact extension to the exosuit that installs a small portable refinery, accessible directly from the user's exosuit interface. The unit requires fuel and can only process one substance at a time.
    • Commercial Rocket: A personal rocketry device with direct link to the Galactic Trade Network. This unit allows the user to load a small spaceship with goods. Upon launch, products will be transported to the nearest trading terminal and sold automatically.
    • MK 2 Personal Refinery – A compact extension to the Exosuit, installing an advanced yet portable Medium Refinery, accessible directly from the Exosuit UI. The unit requires fuel and is capable of refining more complex formulas than the standard personal refinery unit.
  • Hazard Protection: The exosuit's hazard protection system continuously monitors and stabilizes the user's environment. Overall reactive protection can be augmented with environmental shields, providing increased protection against specific conditions. The device is loaded with sodium-based substances. The user is warned that if the hazard protection system is not charged, his or her environment may become incompatible with life.
    • Cooling Grid: Protects the user from extreme heat damage from Scorched Worlds. Provides relief from intense atmospheric and solar heat through a woven network of dermal distribution of liquid phrenium. The device is loaded with mineral extracts found in hot environments. Operates automatically once mounted in the user's exosuit inventory.
    • Thermal Cloak: Protects the wearer from damage from the extreme cold of frozen worlds. A network of heat capillaries woven throughout a user's exo suit that distributes liquid heat in a balanced manner to maintain a comfortable body temperature. The device is loaded with mineral extracts found in frozen environments. Operates automatically once mounted in the user's exosuit inventory.
    • Toxin Suppressant: The user is protected from toxic damage. The reactive compounds in the suppressor remove toxic liquids from reaching the user, thereby reducing the danger and risk of suffocation. The device is loaded with mineral extracts found in toxic environments. Operates automatically once mounted in the user's exosuit inventory.
    • Radiation Deflector: The user is protected from radioactive damage. It significantly reduces the user's risk during exploration of worlds with radiation. Microvibrations increase the reflection of waves, thus reducing absorption. The device is loaded with mineral extracts found in radioactive environments. Operates automatically once mounted in the user's exosuit inventory.
    • Ventilation membrane: allows the user to dive for longer. It absorbs gases dissolved in water through a membranous relay that, if the user belongs to a conventional type of structure, is placed over the mouth or facial breathing hole. Operates automatically once mounted in the user's exosuit inventory.
    • Protective Net: Increases the base capacity of the hazard protection system, allowing the user to spend more time in a dangerous environment without having to recharge their exosuit.
  • Oxygen Recycler: Increases the base capacity of the life support system, allowing the user to go longer between charges.
    • Oxygen Diverter: Upgrades the exo suit's ventilation membrane to collect oxygen from the life support system in the event of a respiratory emergency, allowing the wearer to return to the surface and seek conventional fuel supplies. It is not recommended to use the long-term conversion of life-sustaining energy into breathing gas, as it may lead to cessation of life.
  • Jetpack: Provides advanced movement abilities to the exosuit, including temporary flight. The backpack draws power from the exosuit's life support system to pressurize and release bursts of gas that propel the wearer into the air. The jetpack can be temporarily overloaded by collecting deuterium-rich plants, thus causing a dramatic increase in available propulsion.
    • Neural Stimulator: Increases the capacity of the exosuit's jetpack tanks and adrenaline pump reserves, allowing the user to fly and run for longer.
    • Jet Boots: Equips the exosuit's jetpack with advanced jumping capabilities, allowing the user to make large leaps with ease.
    • Efficient Aqueous Thrusters: Improves the fuel efficiency of the jetpack's marine thrusters, reducing drain on the exosuit's life support systems. Aqueous compression units are installed in the jetpack turbines to avoid the high energy demands of underwater ignition.
    • Air Blast Engine: A powerful upgrade to the Exosuit's jetpack that allows limited recharging of the jetpack during flight. Highly efficient compressors attached around the jetpack exhaust take advantage of the airflow generated by the persistent fall, recycling some of that energy into fuel for the jetpack.
  • Simple Translator - An automatic translation device. Record and analyze nearby conversations before collating the data through a contextual learning system to determine implied meaning. A low memory capacity of this input model limits the translation capacity.
    • Top Translator - An automatic translation device. Record and analyze nearby conversations before collating the data through a contextual learning system to determine implicit meaning. Language processors working in parallel facilitate a greater proportion of recorded speech to be translated.
    • Advanced Translator - an automatic translation device. Record and analyze nearby conversations before collating the data through a contextual learning system to determine implied meaning. A large memory array and powerful language processors allow simultaneous translation of significant speech fragments.

How to get exosuit upgrade modules

In addition to upgrade technologies for the exosuit, in No Man's Sky we can also get exosuit upgrade modules . These modules function as passive bonuses that increase statistics of certain upgrades. For example, if you get a module for the Life Support upgrade, you will increase the benefits of this type of upgrade. The statistics increase more or less depending on the type of module you install (these can be from class C to class S or X ).

You can install up to 3 upgrade modules for each technology at most in your exosuit, but you will have to get them first, obviously. The method to obtain exosuit upgrade modules is as follows:

  • Visit the space stations of the systems you travel through.
  • At each station you will find an Exosuit Research Technology Trader booth.
  • You can buy upgrade modules from this character in exchange for nanites.
  • Each merchant offers random upgrade modules of all types for sale, so be sure to talk to the ones you find.
  • In pirate systems you can visit banned stations to trade with the Salvaged Item Dealer who always has Class X upgrade modules (the best in the game) for sale.
Remember, by the way, that if you find modules for sale that interest you and you want several of the same type, you can "reset" the catalog of modules that these merchants have for sale easily with a little trick. On space stations, after purchasing modules, simply hop on and off your ship to create a reset point save; Once this is done, load your game again with this point and the merchants will once again have more modules for sale than the ones you have already purchased.

In short, if you want to improve your exosuit in No Man's Sky, don't forget to buy and install all the technology upgrades and also acquire the best modules to maximize your character.
