Assassin's Creed Valhalla Mushroom puzzle: all localities & solutions

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Mushroom puzzle: all localities & solutions

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla you can find a total of 15 Mushroom puzzles. We tell you the locations and how you solve the tasks.

In Assassin's Creed: Valhalla there is, as it almost should be for open-world games, various collectibles and tasks to be found and fulfilled. This also includes Mushrooms, which you have to eat in order to fulfill unlocked tasks in the subsequent state of intoxication. Originally the Mushroom puzzles are called "Fly Agaric Puzzles".

How useful it is to encourage players to let their protagonists munch highly poisonous Mushrooms remains to be seen. Either way: Please do not imitate it in the real world. ;)

We show you all 15 Mushroom positions on the map and describe how you can master all puzzles and other tasks.

By the way, good to know here: We actually ran through the various positions in the game ourselves and didn't just translate a guide from English. In this way we can guarantee that the information given here is really correct and that translation errors are excluded. Only with our guide are you always on the spurs of the mushrooms. ;)

Drunk riddles: after Eivor has taken a nice big bite of the poisonous plant, the picture blurs and the landscape changes. Usually gates or torch bowls appear with which you have to interact, but every now and then opponents and wild animals appear who attack Eivor. As soon as the fight is over or the riddle has been solved, the exam is passed and Eivor presents a newfound wisdom - usually in the form of a poem.

Mushrooms & Where To Find Them

Nordvege and Englaland: You can only find two Mushroom puzzles in Nordvege, the remaining 13 are all in England. With our guide for mushroom pickers you can hardly miss the locations. If you do not see the fly agaric for all the mushrooms, turn on your assassin's view (Odin's eyes).

Where to look first It doesn't matter in which order you collect the mushrooms.

Why the search is worth it

On the one hand, the mushrooms represent another task for the collectors & completionists among you and on the other hand you receive experience points. You will also travel to other areas of the opulent world in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and may stumble across other stories.

1. Nordvege - Rygjafylki

Island with the "Abandoned Country House": You will probably find this Mushroom puzzle first, as it is closest to your original settlement. On the island, where you can also find a treasure at the "Abandoned Country House", you will find three stone statues and a note on the lower half. As soon as you have eaten the mushrooms, three gates appear. Based on the information on the slip of paper, you must now step through the gates in the correct order.

Solution sequence: 1. Thor (statue with Thor's hammer), 2. Freya (apparition read as "female"), 3. Odin (with a staff / sword).

2. England - Grantabrycgscir

Opposite Elge: On the mainland, which is opposite Elge (island with monastery), a round headland protrudes slightly. There you will discover the next Mushroom puzzle. After you have indulged your palate, three gates and five braziers appear. Light the three braziers, each with a gate next to them, by interacting with them. If you have lit the right bowls, a new main gate opens. Go through and you will have completed the mission.

3. England - Legracaesterscir

Wenlocan Monastery: When you've found Wenlocan Monastery, you have to keep west and a little bit south. Eat the Mushrooms there and follow the seal. Yes, you read that right, the seal. This always stops in front of one of several gates and stares at it until you have passed through. From then on, more and more of the animals appear. But you always have to follow him who moves to one of the gates and remains there. Task passed.

4. England - East Angla

Elmenham, Brislea homestead, Hraefnathorp: To get to this Mushroom puzzle, you can orientate yourself using many prominent points on the map. It is certainly easiest to walk west of Elmenham until you see a small lake. Alternatively, you can orientate yourself at the Brislea homestead, from which you have to ride north-east. Your settlement Hraefnathorp is even easier but further away. If you travel stubbornly to the right (east) from there, you will also arrive at the destination after various river crossings.

Solution: Go through the gate on the right (as seen by the viewer). Next to the gate is a large woman statue sunk into the ground, of which only the head can be seen. Once you have done this, floating rock formations form. Climb this and then go through the arch on the far right with shields leaning against the frame. New archways open up again. Now walk through the one in the middle with the flowers in front of it and enjoy your experience.

5. England - Oxenafordscir

Evesham Monastery: You can collect mushroom number five in the southeast of Evensham Monastery. This task could hardly be easier; Again several goals appear to you in the intoxication. Here there are wooden crosses next to the passages. Rattle off all archways in increasing numbers of crosses. So first you stroll through the gate with only one cross next to it, then through the one with two, then with three and so on. And you've already successfully mastered another puzzle.

6. England - Scrobbescir

Klostersee: There is a lake next to Wenlocan Monastery. Follow the bank to the south and then a little further. Be careful in the area that you nibble on the right mushroom, because there are numerous other (also inedible) species lined up there. The mushroom you desire can be found under the old, mighty tree in front of a large, standing stone (resembles a menhir). There is also a note on the right that indicates what needs to be done.

Solution: Simple! Ignites all fireplaces around which a stone circle has been placed. As always, this happens through interaction.

7. England - Cant

Border Caent - Sudseaxe: In the lower part of Caent, almost exactly on the border with Sudseaxe, you will find your next Mushroom puzzle. Travel to the border section that is below the river. There is also a monastery (Tonebrige) nearby.

Solution order: Again, the correct order is everything. After following the rock ramp up, four gates appear. Each gate stands for one element: fire, water, earth, air. Based on what you saw on your way up the stone ramp, the correct order is:

  • Water (gate with fish & waterfalls)
  • Fire (gate with blazing flames)
  • Earth (gate which seems somehow morbid)
  • Air (gate with birds)

8. England - Eoforwicscir

North-east of Eoforwic: A long way north-east of Eoforwic is an ice lake. In the middle of the lake, surrounded by nothing but snow and ice, Eivor discovers the fly agaric. Strength is required in this test. If you eat the mushroom, some wild animals appear, including bears and wolves. Make short work of the predators and receive your reward.

9. England - Snotingahamscir

Eorthburg Hlaw : Stay to the left (west) of the lake near the house of the berserker or to the north-east of the stone circle formations "Eorthburg Hlaw". Again, you "only" have to fight to let the mushroom rush end appropriately and to pass the challenge.

10. England - East Seaxe

Waledene: To the east of Waledene and southwest of Beodricesworth there is a supply of mushrooms so that Eivor can rhyme again. But first you have to convert some of the red flames that are blazing in the braziers into blue ones. You do this as always by interacting with the shells. Start from the left (near the tattered black sail) in a clockwise direction. The order is: blue, red, red, blue, blue, red. Run through the archway and you have already solved another Mushroom puzzle.

11. England - Sudseaxe

Ciscaester Abbey: Ride steeply south or east of Ciscaester Abbey from Crawedene. Another point of orientation would be Crawanlea. From there you would have to go north and cross a river. Arrived at the point mentioned, you will see your new favorite mushrooms near the lake landscape. Just eaten, a pack of wolves appears, which you have to kill to complete the mission.

12. England - Glowecaesterscir

Kate des Druid: At the Kate des Druid there is a lake. If this is your location, steer north-west. Otherwise you can use the lettering "Glowecaesterscir" on your map as a guide, because the next mushroom puzzle is right next to it. If you have already uncovered Evesham Monastery, you can keep to the southeast from there.

Solution: The quiver of arrows on your left that never gets empty may have already told you: You have to shoot with your bow. Seven metal statues and a ship have opened up in front of you. Three of the statues are on the left and three on the right of the airship. A seventh is in the middle of the ship. The statues only differ in the banners they carry. One is black with a white symbol, the other green and white divided with black embroidery. Your task now is to shoot down all the green and white flags. That's it

13. England - Hamtunscir

Stone formation "Stanneng": Travel west and a little south of the large stone circle called Stanneng. From there you can reach "Ecgbeorhts Stein". Described even more simply: Look on your map for the words "Hamtunscir". Go from "H" slightly diagonally upwards to the left (northwest). You can also fight again. Before you take on this challenge, keep in mind that the area is recommended for strength level 340.

14. England - Lincolnescir

Legracaester: Grab your trusty horse and ride straight east from Legracaester until you have crossed the bridge. From there, keep to the east but with a slight south twist and you're there. Alternatively, you can start at Medeshamstede Monastery and ride northwest. One more time the muscles and not the head have to be tried in this bear task.

15. Nordveg- Hördafylki

Snow Island : West of Alrekstad is a large island. This is exactly to the west of the neighboring island's dock. Here again just has to fight. Make sure that your strength level and your provisions are sufficient and the very last fly agaric challenge is passed.

Finally, an unconfirmed fun fact: Mushrooms are supposedly like catnip (catnip) to cats for reindeer . According to reports from Siberia, the deer-like animals greedily lick up the urine of people who have previously consumed Mushroom. The fungus also has a psychoactive effect on the reindeer. However, due to the high toxicity of the Mushroom, the number of human consumers should (hopefully) remain within limits.

How did you like the Mushroom puzzles? Did you even find them all?
