Godfall

  • Genre: (Co-op) Action
  • Release also for PS4? No
  • Godfall was the first launch game announced for the PS5.

What you can expect: In the futuristic "Loot Slasher" with co-op mode, we should prevent the apocalypse that is looming. We take on the role of a warrior of the fallen order of knights and look for armor sets called Valorplates. We upgrade them with upgrades and receive special abilities such as magical projectiles or healing spells.

Astro's playroom

  • Genre: 3D platformer
  • Release also for PS4? No, PS5 exclusive
What's the matter? The new adventure of the popular PlayStation robot Astro aims to introduce the new features of the PS5. Basically, gamers expect more of a playable tech demo than a big release. But Astro's Playroom is also free and pre-installed on the PS5.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

  • Genre: Action Adventure
  • Release also for PS4? Yes
What's the matter? After initial confusion, we now know that Spider-Man Miles Morales will be a standalone game for the PS5. However, the scope is a bit smaller and is more like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. In the new superhero game we slip into the role of the eponymous Miles, who has to learn to deal with his newly acquired Spidey skills.

Demon's Souls Remake

  • Genre: Action RPG
  • Release also for PS4? No
What's the matter? With Demon's Souls , the forefather of the now so successful Soulslike genre awaits you as a remake at the start of the PS5. Responsible are Bluepoint Games, which have already proven with the new edition of Shadow of the Colossus , how well they can bring originals to a new platform.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

  • Genre: Jump & Run
  • Release also for PS4? Yes
What's the matter? The sweet Sackboy is back on PlayStation 5. The developers of Sumo Digital, who have already made LittleBigPlanet 3 , are giving you a great adventure this time with the iconic character. For this you have to walk through a 3D world from a slightly angled perspective and avoid all kinds of dangers.

Hyper Scape

  • Genre: first person shooter
  • Release also for PS4? Yes
This is what awaits you: In Hyper Scape you compete against each other in the classic battle royale style in a virtual world. Have you seen the movie Ready Player One, you know roughly what to expect. This virtual reality contains a digital city that is somewhat reminiscent of Paris and was named New Arcadia. The so-called crown hunt takes place here. A struggle for survival, the winner of which can claim fame and honor.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

  • Genre: Action RPG
  • Release also for PS4? Yes
Similar to Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will also appear as a cross-gen title at the launch of the PS5.

This awaits you: We slip into the role of a female or male Viking named Eivor and lead our tribe from Norway to England in the 9th century. Here we are founding a new settlement, which our opponent King Alfred von Wessex understandably does not like at all.

Observer: System Redux

  • Genre: Horror Adventure
  • Release also for PS4? No, just the original
With the System Redux version, the horror adventure Observer receives a next gen remaster that will be released for the PS5 in the 4th quarter of 2020.

That will be improved: In addition to graphical improvements, the gameplay will also be adapted. There should also be new story content.

What to expect: The horror adventure puts you in an Eastern European cyberpunk universe in the year 2084. As an observer of a private police unit, you can penetrate the minds and memories of people in order to use their fears against them.

The Pathless

  • Genre: Action Adventure
  • Release also for PS4? Yes (as well as for PC)
In the action adventure we become a hunter who masters archery. Together with an eagle as a companion, we explore a mystical island to avert a curse that has attacked the world. Our connection to the eagle plays an important role as we hunt down depraved spirits, solve puzzles and fight the secrets to the bottom.

The game should benefit from the new DualSense controller on the PS5 and make the use of the arc with the trigger look even more realistic.

Bugsnax

  • Genre: Action Adventure
  • Release also for PS4? Yes, but the release is still unclear
What's the matter? In the colorful and weird Bugsnax , it's up to us to explore a secret island that has the rare Bugsnax - a mix of insect and snack. In total, over 100 of these Bugsnax must be found and captured. Every monster is crazier and tastier than the one before.

Call of Duty: Warzone

  • Genre: Battle Royale
  • Release also for PS4? Yes, already appeared
Although the release of Call of Duty: Warzone at the start of the PS5 is not yet set in stone, developer Infinity Ward read in an interview that the Next Gen will be supported after release.

What to expect: Warzone is the independent, free Battle Royale mode of CoD: Modern Warfare, in which you fight for victory against 150 players in squads, trios or solo.

Dirt 5

  • Genre: racing game
  • Release also for PS4? Yes
With Dirt 5, racing game fans get the much more colorful sequel to one of the most popular rally series at the start of the Next Gen.

What you can expect: So far, a career mode, a split screen mode for up to four players and various online modes have been announced for the arcade racer. This is where rally cars, trucks and GT bodies go on various racetracks around the world.
