If they stay in the cold for too long, they will begin to lose health points, and then die altogether. To prevent this, look for bonfires and torches, collect scarlet quartz, keep near the fire fairies, or just take a healer into your team.
In any case, as soon as you look at the peak of Dragon Ridge, you will immediately see a red ray directed into the sky. This is the Statue of Seven and you will need to get to it.
