Room of thoughts in Disco Elysium - guide

Want to figure out what certain thoughts are doing in Disco Elysium ? Wondering what thoughts you should choose and how? This is a guide to thinking in your office.


Mindroom Basics

How exactly does the room of thoughts and thoughts work inside it? When your character learns more about the game world and about himself, he gets access to various thoughts - worldviews, ideologies, personality traits, hobbies.


Some of these thoughts affect your character, changing your skills. Others change the way they interact with the world, give experience points, healing, or money for certain actions. It is important to note that none of your thoughts change the parameters of your dialogues.


To use one of these thoughts, you must use a skill point to unlock a slot in your office. Once the slot is open, you can choose a thought to "internalize". The process will take several hours, depending on how complex the thought is. While a thought is being internalized, it will affect your stats.


We remind you that time at Disco Elysium only passes when you are studying something or talking to people. Traveling around the world does not take time. The thought cabinet has a total of 12 available slots that can be unlocked - once it is full, you can use skill points to erase your learned thought. Now you can internalize another thought in this slot for free.


The list of thoughts is divided into 3 parts - two sections for thoughts, which you can find in the initial section of Revachol, for 1-2 days, and one for thoughts, for which you must wait until the third day.


Please note that playing time stops at 02:00. This means that you can no longer assimilate thoughts until you go to sleep. On the other hand, this is a great time to talk to Kim and Joyce and just use each answer for each dialogue option “for free”.


Day 1-2

The thoughts indicated in this section can be opened starting from the first awakening of the main character.
