Warzone at 120 FPS on PS5 - Here's how
The prerequisites: Well, first of all you need a PlayStation 5 - unfortunately that alone is still not easily possible more than six months after the release of Sony's next-gen console.
If you have a PS5, things are by no means a sure-fire success: Your output device, i.e. TV or monitor, must also handle the video signal at 120 Hz. If the output device doesn't support that, that's it with the 120 FPS.
You also need an HDMI 2.1 cable - at least for 120 FPS at 4K resolution. The included with the PS5 should be enough in itself. If you use another one, pay attention to HDMI 2.1 support. You can still squeeze 120 Hz out of an HDMI 2.0 cable, but only in Full HD resolution. In this case, however, you have to set the resolution of your PS5 accordingly to 1080p.
How to get 120 Hz: If you want to activate the 120 Hz support in Warzone, you have to do the following OUTSIDE the game:
- Go to the settings menu on your PS5
- When you get to “Video output”, all you have to do is scroll down completely - to the point “Activate 120 Hz output”. Here you have to set the option to “automatic”
- Navigate in the “Settings” menu to the point “Saved data and game / app settings”
- There you now select “Game Preferences” and set the option to “Performance Mode”
