Journalist Jeff Keely posted a rather cryptic tweet about Elder Ring 's presence at the Summer Games Fest , at least as interpreted by FromSoftware 's most avid fans .
Keely's tweet contains only a meme, a classic animated GIF with a caption in which you can see a little panda trying to break out of a cage. At the bottom of the animation, you can read “I'll Break Free!”.

The reference is quite difficult to decipher if you do not know Keely's biography. During the last The Game Awards held in December 2020, he mentioned the game from the stage, but nothing was shown at the ceremony itself. Then the frustrated gamers put him in a kind of cage.
Thus, the meme hints that Keely will finally be released from the cage, because Elden Ring will be shown at the Summer Game Fest.
Elden Ring's presence at the Summer Games Fest was also indirectly confirmed by Jeff Grubb, who responded to Keely's tweet with an understanding wink.
