Nioh 2 is a great game with a quality PC port, and with a couple of cool souls-like mods from Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo, it's going to get even cooler.
A beautiful souls-like incarnation, keeping the genre afloat after the conclusion of the Dark Souls trilogy. It's hard to overestimate this Japanese medieval fantasy. Local battles are much more dynamic than in most similar titles, which means that the player will face a difficult test: monitor several aspects of the battle and try to survive at any cost, facing skillful and insidious enemies.
Sometimes the complexity of the game gets on your nerves. Then interesting mods for the PC version of Nioh 2 will help relieve stress. Most of them are purely cosmetic in nature, some improve the graphics, while others make the game even more severe.
FOG Disable V3 - No Bloom Optional
Nioh 2 has amazing graphics, which is especially noticeable in the PC version. However, it was not without anomalies: there is too much fog in the game. This is a classic quirk of many Japanese RPGs, including Monster Hunter World.
Fortunately, modders did not put up with this alignment. FOG Disable V3 - No bloom optional is a simple mod that removes a couple of unnecessary visual effects, namely fog and glow. In some cases, this will increase the frame rate.
Eyes retext
Due to the difference in lighting on the character creation screen and in the game itself, we often choose not at all the eyes that we originally wanted. It also happens that the assortment of textures does not please, regardless of the location of the hero.

Clearly - Reshade Preset
If you are confused by the nebula of Nioh 2, but still not enough to remove it completely, then the Clearly - Reshade Preset is a great compromise. Reshades are essentially sets of visual filters that enhance or dim certain color tones.
Reshaid helps breathe life into old games or make new titles look nicer. Anyway, the graphics in Nioh 2 are a bit outdated. In the absence of fog, this will become conspicuous. Reshade Preset only partially attenuates the nebula and preserves the atmosphere of Nioh 2.
Round eyewear
Despite the Japanese fantasy setting, the character skins in Nioh 2 are in line with the trends of the illuminated era. This means that there is simply no such accessory as glasses in the game. It's a pity, because you can create so many interesting images with them.
But don't be discouraged: that's what the Round Eyewear mod is for. Nioh 2 heroes now have more style choices. Of course, lore will suffer from this, but if you really wanted to turn the game into an anime, do not pass by this mod.
Phantom mask
Want to look stylish in Nioh 2 without breaking the atmosphere of the stated era? There are many mods that fit perfectly into the game's lore and period of Japanese history.
One of them is Phantom Mask. In fact, this is just a re-texture of the Sohai mask, which is remade to match the female version of the ghostly youkai form. It is much prettier than the old version and goes well with various character images.+
Longer twin-tails hairstyle
Another aspect of styling that Nioh 2 players don't like is the choice of hairstyles. Some of them are too short, others too boring for a Japanese title with supernatural elements.
The discontent of the players gave rise to the Longer Twin-Tails Hairstyle mod, the purpose of which is clear from the name: the tails will become longer, but will still obey in-game physics. At least in most cases.
Cleaner Combat Effects
The battles in Nioh 2 are a bit like a disco in a club. When attacking an enemy, you activate a chain of combat skills, which are accompanied by a bunch of sparks and other visual effects. Sometimes this is enough to confuse you in a tense situation.
End these distractions once and for all with the Cleaner Combat Effects mod. No more light shows when killing enemies and changing stances!
Buster Sword (Final Fantasy 7 Remake Style)
If the immersion effect has already been broken by one or more of the previous mods, then why not download Buster Sword in addition? Your character will be able to smash enemies with the famous weapon of Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7.
Surprisingly, the rough design of the Buster sword fits perfectly into the Nioh 2 setting. The modder did his best: the edges of the weapon reflect all light sources and respond adequately to the game world. The sword looks hardened and frayed in battle, so it suits the gloomy atmosphere of Nioh 2 well.
Improved Antialiasing
Despite the high-quality PC port, the Nioh 2 is not without technical flaws. One is outdated anti-aliasing technology that does not correct image jaggedness properly. This is often the case with console games due to the reduced resolution.
The PC version of Nioh 2 lacks modern anti-aliasing algorithms such as SMAA and FXAA, but the Improved Antialiasing mod fixes this problem. Plus, using mods instead of in-game anti-aliasing improves performance.
Challenge Mod
Finally, why not make Nioh 2 even harder? Essentially, the Challenge Mod is a table where you can customize the parameters of enemies.
Change the level of health, damage and much more to your opponents. Also, the mod includes a global speed modifier in case you like such a challenge. There is even an opportunity to use the mod for a multiplayer game, but the author does not recommend this.
