To prevent your character from falling into depression, you need to find sources of joy. Below we have listed the main sources of mood enhancement:

  • Delicious food. It's not just about rare products like chocolate or soda. Even simple food can lift your spirits if you first add salt or spices to it before you eat it. At the same time, you will get rid of the feeling of hunger.
  • Entertainment. Pay attention to the paper literature that is scattered around the game world. It will help you get rid of sadness. In addition, watch TV and listen to music.
  • Conversations with characters. They will be available if you are not alone on the server. Dialogues with other players will also dispel boredom.
  • Killing zombies. Successfully eradicating the living dead will also reduce sadness and delay the onset of depression.
  • Antidepressants. They should only be used when absolutely necessary. You can find antidepressants in pharmacies and medical kits. In addition, they sometimes drop from dead zombies. Please note that antidepressants do not work instantly. The effect of them comes after about two in-game hours.
Project Zomboid is currently in early access, so certain elements of the game may change in the future.
