The queues are extremely long in Lost Ark right now. If you log in after 6:00 p.m., you won't be able to get online before midnight on some servers. But how long can you actually stand around AFK before you get kicked?
How long is the AFK timer? Lost Ark currently kicks you out of the game after 30 minutes. We tested this ourselves in two attempts and this was also confirmed by some users on Reddit.
So if you want to make sure you don't get kicked out of the game, you have 30 minutes to move manually. Otherwise, you will lose the connection to the server and have to queue again.

Can I change my AFK timer? No. While there is an option in-game to change the AFK settings, this is a flag in-game itself. So you can decide whether you are AFK after 15, 30, or 60 minutes in-game.
Actually, Lost Ark shouldn't have an AFK kick at all, at least there isn't one in Korea. That's why you also have the option to adjust the time to 60 minutes.
We suspect the timer was put in place due to the long queues and was capped at 30 minutes.
How long are the queues? It basically depends on the server.
Even on the new and smallest servers, there were at least 10,000 players waiting for a spot at prime time.
Why is that? Lost Ark is currently the most successful MMORPG on Steam and has even broken some records. Only PUBG had more concurrent players on the platform than Lost Ark at all.
