Ghost Wire Tokyo All 25 Tanuki Locations (Hunting Tanuki)

 In Ghostwire: Tokyo you can go on a hunt for Tanuki. In this side quest, you have to find 25 camouflaged Tanuki hiding on the Shibuya map. At this point, we show you the localities of all Tanuki on the map.

Start hunting Tanuki

You start the Tanuki hunt via the side mission "Hunt for Tanuki". You switch it on automatically after the main mission "In the trap: search the shrine for something useful." during chapter 2 free. On the map, you will then see the mission symbol in front of the Shiroyama Shrine.

Here, talk to the marked tanuki by using spirit vision and reading the mind of the tanuki. The leader of the tanuki then sends you to search for his colleagues who are hiding all over Shibuya. One problem with this: They have disguised themselves as environmental objects and only their bushy tails on the objects give you a clue as to their true form.

You should then find the first tanuki directly on the shrine grounds. It's disguised as a lidded pot just a few yards to the west. Investigate it and then report back to the leader to complete the Tanuki Hunt side quest at this point. But you can now look for the remaining 24 tanuki and at the end get the final mission "The leader of the tanuki", in which you will receive the tanuki outfit as a reward.

Tip: In shrine districts with offering boxes, you can donate 500 meika and the wish "I want to find more tanuki." to express. This will always mark the location of a tanuki in the shrine's catchment area. However, this only works for shrines that have an offering box. In the other districts you have to find the tanuki yourself. For each shrine, you can check under "Area Completion" whether there is a Tanuki there or not.

Side Mission "The Leader of the Tanuki"

Once you've found all 25 Tanuki, you'll unlock one of Ghostwire: Tokyo's trophies and achievements with "Put on the Fur". In addition, the side mission "Leader of the Tanuki" is now unlocked at the Kirigaoka Shrine in the north.

However, if you teleport directly there, the mission will not appear. You'll have to run away a bit before it appears on the map. Alternatively, first, teleport to Chishima Shrine or Yamaki Shrine and then run towards Kirigaoka Shrine for it to pop up.

The mission itself consists only of a dialogue in which the leader of the tanuki thanks you and gives you the tanuki outfit as a reward. From now on you can walk through Shibuya yourself as a tanuki.
