How to pause Elden Ring without using mods

Until recently, it was believed that Elden Ring could not be paused even in a single player. The modding community quickly resolved this issue, but it turns out there is another way that allows you to pause the game without installing additional mods.

How to pause Elden Ring without mods

To force the world of Elden Ring to pause, the following steps must be followed:

  1. Press the "Esc" key on the keyboard, the "Start" or "Options" button on the gamepad to open the game menu.
  2. Select and enter any submenu, such as "Inventory".
  3. Call the additional menu with a list of parameters.
  4. Select "Help".
  5. Open the "Menu Description" section from the help list.

At this point, an in-game pop-up window will appear on your screen, and until you close it, Elden Ring will be paused.

You can notice that all movement in the game is frozen. After that, you can safely move away and go about your business.

There is no 100% guarantee of the durability of such a solution, since this is an exploit. FromSoftware in any update can fix it. However, at the time of writing the guide, the method worked.
