Kirby and the Forgotten Land: How to play in local co-op

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is one of those Nintendo games that we can enjoy in the company of another player from our sofa at home. Yes, this title has a local cooperative mode, and accessing it is very simple (remember that it is only local, that is, you cannot play online multiplayer. It is only allowed with both players from the same console).

Below we explain the steps to follow to start playing the duo mode and what its characteristics are.

How to join a second player in the game?

To unlock the cooperative mode of Kirby and the Forgotten Land you must first beat the introductory phase of the story titled "End Point". After this short phase that works as a tutorial, you arrive for the first time in the City of Waddle Dees and then our friend Waddle Dee handkerchief will appear. From here the duo mode will be available whenever you want.

To join a second player in the game you just have to do the following:

• Open the main menu of the game with the "+" button.
• Select "Duo Match" mode.
• Now connect a second compatible controller to your Nintendo Switch console.
• The second player will be in charge of controlling the Waddle Dee handkerchief.

You can do this whenever you want at any point in the game to have a second player join you.

Cooperative mode special features

During the duo mode match of Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the second player will take control of Waddle Dee Bandana. Therefore, this second player will not be able to use Kirby's special powers, although he will have a different set of movements and has a spear with which to attack enemies.

Bandana Waddle Dee can accompany Kirby everywhere, but keep in mind that the camera always follows the first player. On the other hand, every time Kirby upgrades and evolves his powers in the city armory, Waddle Dee's bandanna spear will also become more powerful so that it remains useful throughout the game.
