OVERWATCH 2 TO 6 OR 5 PLAYERS?

In Overwatch 2, several changes have been made, but will PvP games still be 6-player? We give you the answer.

Overwatch 2 will experience several changes compared to the first game, including the addition of a PvE mode, new heroes like Sojourn reworks for several characters including Sombra, Bastion, Doomfist, and Orisa, but also changes to the PvP mode.

Among the changes to the Players vs. Players mode, the games will no longer have teams of 6 players, but games of 5 players, as was revealed during the live show presenting PvP gameplay on Overwatch 2.

6 or 5 player PvP games on Overwatch 2?

As we explained to you previously, the developers of Overwatch 2 have decided to remove a tank from each team during PvP games, changing the battles to 5 versus 5 from now on. This change was revealed directly during the live gameplay for the game's PvP mode, which is also available in the video below.

Of course, as you can imagine, the way of playing will be very different with one less tank character per team. We remind you in passing that you will be able to preview these new games in 5 against 5 during the PvP closed beta for Overwatch 2 which begins this Tuesday, April 26 at 8 p.m. and which will end on May 17. Finally, don't forget that you will be able to get access to this closed beta thanks to the Twitch Drops  that will be activated at its official launch.
