How to play Multiversus? basic mechanics

Multiversus is a fighting game, but as regulars know, each fighting game has its own characteristics. 2D characters are not handled in the same way as 3D characters, sometimes there are several levels... so that you know what you are facing, here we will explain how to play Multiversus

How to play Multiversus?

Multiversus is a melee fighting game. The name itself is already quite representative and the closest thing would be Smash Bros, the well-known Nintendo fighting game. If you do not know what the matter is, the thing is quite simple:

  • The combats take place in 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, or All against all.
  • It is possible to play against people or against AI (Normal and Bots, respectively).
  • Ranked mode are ranked, and not available until the public release of the game.
  • The fights take place on a stage that can have several heights, in which there is an edge to the left and another to the right.
  • Just like in Smash, characters will take damage, which stacks and can be seen as a number next to the character's name. The higher the number, the further the character is thrown when receiving a strong hit.
  • If a character crashes into the edges of the stage, the opposing team earns a point. The player who accumulates 2 points (in 1 vs 1) or the team that accumulates 4 points wins (regardless of whether the four losses are to the same character).
  • The main difference with Smash in terms of this elimination mechanic is that it is quite difficult for someone to fall to the bottom edge of the screen. The side edges have considerably less margin and offer easier removal. Also, characters can jump many more times, so it's relatively easy to recover from a ring out that isn't strong enough.
