V Rising is one of those titles that offer the possibility of creating a private multiplayer server to host games with our own friends or customize the rules of the game with a whole series of unique settings. If you are not sure how to create a private game or how to host your own dedicated server, in this section of our guide we briefly explain what you need to know about it.
How to create a private match?
If you want to create a private game in V Rising where the world options are customized by yourself and where you can invite only your online friends to play, then you have to follow these steps:
- On the V Rising main menu select "Play".
- On the next screen choose the "Private Game" option.
- Now you will have to choose the name of your server.
- Don't forget to select which game type you want by choosing between PvE or PvP.
- In the "password" section you can create a password to the server so that only the players with whom you share said password have access.
- If you want to play solo on your private server, check the "Play Solo Only" box.
- Configure the rest of the rules as you prefer and when you finish click on "Start new game".
Remember that private games can be customized very thoroughly through the "Advanced game settings" option, where you will find more than 60 game settings that allow you, for example, to make clans with a greater number of players, and change the local time, allow chats and much more. You can even save that set of rules if you plan to repeat them in the future with another game. Don't be afraid to experiment.
After you have created your private game, your friends can join it by entering your server name in the search bar of the "Join Game" menu. If you have put a password on the game, be sure to share it with your friends.
How to create or rent a dedicated server?
V Rising also offers the ability for more advanced users to create or rent a dedicated server to host online games. To do this, if you are interested in this you must do the following:
- From the V Rising main menu select "Play".
- Now choose the option titled "Host Dedicated Server".
- After this, you will have to choose between "Host dedicated server" or "Rent a server".
Hosting a server means that you are going to create your own with the free tools that SteamCMD offers, while with the option of renting a server, what you will do is pay for a GPortal server already created by one of the partners of Stunlock Studios.
