How do I get the Welcome to Elysium quest?
As soon as you start Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt for the first time, you will land directly in Elysium. This is the hub where you customize your character, interact with other players, and accept quests between rounds.
Here you will also find the first quest in the game: "Welcome to Elysium" you get from Custos, a vampire who is among tons of books in the main hall of Elysium.
Solution of the quest “Welcome to Elysium” – part 1
The quest is divided into three sections that you complete one after the other. All of them require you to find items in Elysium and bring them to Custos. But since these are somewhat hidden, you can easily overlook them. We tracked them down for you.
First, you should find for Custos a book from the 16th century that deals with a papal bull. It's supposed to be somewhere on a bookshelf on the first floor of the main room. For the book you have to go to the gallery above the altar:
- Take the stairs directly behind Custos and keep left before the wall breach. Then you run up the smaller staircase and go to the end of the corridor - the book is on the bookshelf to your right.
Then return to Custos and bring him the tome.
Part 2 - finding the biography
In part 2 of the questline he wants you to get another book for him - " The Biography " which is about the massacre in Vienna.
To do this, take the same path as to find the first book. But keep left in front of the bookshelf where you found the first book. On the opposite side of the room you will find the quest item you are looking for. You can see the position on the screenshot:

Part 3 - finding the borrowed book again
You may have noticed that instead of a book, you found a rose . If you take these back to Custos, he'll complain that you can't just borrow books.
Custos suspects that Maia has something to do with the missing biography and sends you to the Hall of Amenities where you can ask the vampire about the book.
The book is in a niche in the wall on the first floor :
- To do this, take one of the two stairs behind Maia and run to the left until you come to a seating alcove. Turn left again and walk to the end of the hallway. The book is in the niche on the right.
Finally, bring the book you found back to Custos and you've already completed the "Welcome to Elysium" quest in Bloodhunt.
