Without research projects, you would be pretty stuck in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters. Simply by completing them, you can get new Stratagems or extract seeds much faster, to name just two examples. In this guide, we will tell you how you can drastically increase the research speed.
How do I affect the research rate?
You can find out what your current research rate is on your ship in the Libris Malleus compartment. It is displayed at the top left of the screen next to the number of your Stratagems. Your starting research speed is 100%. You can influence the percentage rate by making decisions as part of random events or by earning grimoires.
For example, if the inquisitor Vakir is temporarily absent, your research rate will drop to zero. This can happen as part of random events. Thus, your ship could be hit by asteroids, causing her to be injured. Or a decision requires the Inquisitor's involvement, after which she can no longer lead research projects due to her absence. In these cases, it is also completely irrelevant whether you have a high or low research rate: If Vakir is not in use, the research rate stagnates.
Decisions can occasionally increase your research speed, but only for a short period of time. Obtaining grimoires (books of magical knowledge) is much more useful here. Already one Grimoire permanently increases your research rate by 20%. In addition, you can also expand the Libris Malleus in the Manufactorum to increase the percentage per book up to 50%.
How do I get Grimoires?
Grimoires are one of three important resources in Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters and can be obtained in the same way as Requisitions and Servitors: By completing (side) missions. Every few in-game days you will receive three to four flower growth quests. It is usually not possible to complete them all successfully, even with a fast ship. So you have to choose one of the missions that pop up.
Click on the infobox next to a Blossom Growth Planet to see what rewards await you. Under "Mission Rewards" you can see to what extent you can reduce the corruption on the planet and which resource you get for successful completion. If you would get +1 Grimoires, the resource will be transferred automatically as soon as you have successfully completed the quest - the research speed will also increase immediately.
Successful resource management
By upgrading the Libris Malleus and obtaining Grimoires, you can easily increase the research rate to 500% or more. However, we advise you not to raise them that much while you have other things to do. On the one hand, your research projects could quickly run out and on the other hand, certain research objectives unlock difficult missions that you can hardly win if your Gray Knights are still weak.
Our tip: Collect enough requisitions before each Grandmaster report to increase the Titan's arsenal and always have enough servitors on the waiting list so that your construction projects don't stagnate and sudden damage to your ship can always be repaired.
