How enchantments work in Diablo Immortal. How to get and upgrade talismans and skill stones

Enchantment is one of the most complex mechanics in Diablo Immortal and is quite different from the skill bonuses of legendary weapons. To unleash the full potential of the talismans, you will have to upgrade them, dismantle them, then refill the necessary amulets. In this guide, we will explain how enchantments work, how and where to upgrade wards, and also give useful tips on upgrading talismans.

Where to find and how to unlock talismans

Talismans are the secondary equipment of a high-level hero, providing additional bonuses to various class skills. Unlike any other equipment that you can find in the game, amulets are divided into classes. This means that the dropped amulet may not suit your character.

Where to find and how to unlock talismans

Talismans can be found from the start of the game, but you won’t be able to put them on right away. To gain access to the amulets, you need to pump up to level 56. Once you have unlocked the Realm of Damnation area, you will be able to equip the available charms in your character's inventory.

Here are a few ways to get talismans for your hero:

  1. Bonus Rewards: You can get amulets as rewards for completing quests. Unfortunately, there is a restriction on the execution of such orders. In total, you can complete 8 contracts per day, but it is unlikely that you will receive a talisman even for completing half of the orders.
  2. Battle Pass Rewards: In the current Battle Pass, you can get four talismans at once for reaching level 16, as well as four more for reaching level 36. These talisman rewards are part of the free Battle Pass, so there is no need to purchase premium BP access.
  3. Hilt Collector: You can buy three talismans per week from the Hilt Collector for 100 units each. You can also try to get wards in the "Limited Time" section of the same merchant. But since this is a random daily event, it is unlikely that you will get the talisman.
  4. Daily Activity Rewards: Earn a certain number of Battle Points each day in the Codex Menu and receive one random Talisman daily.

How to upgrade talismans

As we noted earlier, each of the talismans belongs to a particular class, so it is important to find the necessary amulet. Even an ordinary talisman for your class will do, as it will still need to be upgraded to unlock the full potential of the item and get additional bonuses. It is pointless to make such a request to the Blacksmith because he is not engaged in the modernization of amulets. To do this, you need to find a special seller of talismans (Charm Craftsman).

Head to Ricks Square in Westmark. In the southern part of the square, next to the main NPC, you will find an amulet vendor. It provides collection, enhancement, extraction, and filling services for similar items.

First, you need to start collecting (Salvaging) unnecessary talismans. Select all extra amulets in inventory and exchange them for alchemy powder at the vendor. Each normal charm will bring you 10 units of a similar powder.

Here is a little reminder before upgrading the talisman:

  • Any upgrade unlocks a bonus to a random skill. You can unlock up to 5 bonuses;
  • Each Talisman upgrade costs 20 Alchemy Powder. A full upgrade of the amulet will cost you 100 units of powder;
  • When upgrading the amulet, you can get a bonus to the skill, which does not affect the development of your class.

Why do we need "Extraction" and "Filling" of talismans? How to buy and use the Skill Stone

It sounds absurd, but with the improvement of the talisman, you will definitely receive a bonus to the skill, which will not affect the development of your hero in any way. For example, a small percentage of the Vitality skill, which is so important for the Necromancer class, can appear when upgrading the amulet for the Barbarian class. That is why the talisman trader offers two more services: "Extraction" and "Filling". But even here everything is not so simple.

  • You can extract or fill talismans only from level 5 of improvement;
  • If you have a level 5 amulet, you can extract all skills from it;
  • When you extract the bonus, you will turn the amulet into the so-called Skill Stone. It is used to replace a certain bonus slot in the required amulet;
  • After filling the amulet with a skill stone, out of five bonuses, only one remains - random. This means that you have a 20% chance to get the desired upgrade for your talisman.

Please note that after upgrading the amulet, you cannot use it to exchange for alchemy powder. This is the only item in Diablo Immortal that works this way. A random modifier is also applied to replacing a skill bonus with an improvement from a Skill Stone: +2%, +4%, +6%, +8%, or +10%.

Here are the chances of getting each Skill Bonus Modifier when using a Skill Stone on a Ward:

  • +2% Bonus: 75%
  • +4% Bonus: 19.5%
  • +6% Bonus: 4%
  • +8% Bonus: 1%
  • +10% Bonus: 0.5%
There is another way to get a Skill Stone to upgrade talismans. You can purchase it on the market for Platinum. In this case, you yourself choose ready-made bonuses for your amulet, but when filling, only one of them will also remain.
