Few were waiting for the relaunch of [b] Saints Row[ /b], but on August 23, he still came out. And besides the outdated picture, there were a lot of bugs in the game. In addition to the typical technical problems of the first day, there are also flaws in the game mechanics. For the latter, the only solution is to wait for patches. But many others can be solved one way or another on the player's side.

In this article, we have collected all the common technical problems with the PC version of Saints Row and provided their proven solutions.

What kind of computer is needed for Saints Row (system requirements)

What kind of computer is needed for Saints Row (system requirements)

The game can load up to 12 processor threads. Therefore, processors not weaker than Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 of the last couple of generations are recommended. As for the graphics card, for a stable 60 FPS at maximum settings in 1080p, an adapter of the level of GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 590 is required.

We have studied a number of independent tests of Saints Row and have come to the conclusion that the official system requirements of the game are close to the truth. They do not affect the recommendations for ray tracing enabled, but, judging by the tests, it is enough to enable DLSS along with ray tracing so that the FPS is at the same level as without both.

Official minimum system requirements (1080p @ 30 FPS, low preset, RTX Off):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit only!).
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-3240 / Ryzen 3 1200.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / AMD Radeon RX 480.
  • RAM: 8 gigabytes.

Official Recommended System Requirements (1080p @ 60 FPS, High Preset, RTX Off):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-6700K / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 5700.
  • RAM: 12 gigabytes.

Official recommended system requirements for 2K (1440p @ 60 FPS, high preset, RTX Off):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-10700K / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X.
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.
  • RAM: 16 gigabytes.

Official Recommended System Requirements for 4K (2160P @ 60 FPS, High Preset, RTX Off):

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64.
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-12600 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X.
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 3080 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.
  • RAM: 16 gigabytes.

Saints Row won't start on Windows 7/10

The game is not designed to run on Microsoft operating systems older than Windows 10.

If you have Windows 10, and the game still does not start, then try installing all the latest updates.

SSE4 error

Your processor is too old and does not support SSE4 instructions. Perhaps in the future, an update for older processors will be released for the game.

The game won't start error LS-0018

This is a common first-day problem:

  1. Try to press the Enter key (or the Dismiss button with the mouse) until the game still starts.
  2. If this does not help, then check if the game process is already running in the "Task Manager". You can launch it with the key combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc.

Game crashes without an error

I. Restart your computer.

II. If this does not help, then check the integrity of the game files in Steam:

  1. start Steam ;
  2. go to the "Library" section ;
  3. right- click on the name of the game ( Saints Row ) in the list on the left and open the properties;
  4. in the "Local files" tab, click "Verify integrity of game files" ;
  5. wait for the process to complete.

Saints Row crashes with error 0x0c000142 / 0x0c000005

Run Windows System File Checker. To do this, press the keyboard shortcut Windows + R , and then in the window that opens, type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes). After the check is complete, restart your computer.

Error 0xc000007b

Reinstall or update NVIDIA drivers. It is advisable to do a clean install to reset unsuccessful settings.

Out of memory error in Saints Row

Your PC is running out of RAM. The best solution is to increase the amount of RAM to at least 8 gigabytes. Increasing the swap file will most likely help. Also, be sure to close your browser before launching any game. Especially if it has a large number of open tabs.

The resolution does not change

This error can occur if screen scaling is enabled in Windows. You can compensate for this in the following way:

  1. Find the SaintsRow.exe file in the game folder.
  2. Go to properties and go to the "Compatibility" tab.
  3. Click the Change High DPI Settings button.
  4. In the "Override scaling mode..." option, select "Application".

Update your video card drivers

Visit the graphics card manufacturer's website:

  • NVIDIA GeForce: The site itself will select the appropriate drivers. Just click "Search" and then "Download Now". After the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
  • AMD Radeon: Scroll down to Search for your product and select your graphics card under Graphics. Click the Submit button. On the page that opens, click LMB on your version of Windows and click "Download". Once the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
Important: Be sure to restart your computer after updating your drivers.

Turn on high performance for graphics card

For NVIDIA GeForce owners:

  1. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking on the desktop.
  2. Select Manage 3D Settings from the list on the left.
  3. Switch to the "Program settings" tab in the main part of the screen and select Saints Row from the drop-down list under "1. Select a program to configure " (if the game is not in the list, then add the appropriate button next to it).
  4. In the list below, find the function "Power management mode" and switch it to "Preferred mode of maximum performance".

For owners of AMD Radeon and AMD processors:

  1. Open Radeon Settings by right-clicking on the desktop.
  2. Go to the "System" section.
  3. In the "Switchable Graphics" category, set the graphics card with "maximum performance" as the main one.
  4. Click "Accept".

Transport is called with broken windows

Such a problem can occur when you call for transport from the headquarters garage. Restarting the game sometimes helps with this. Completely the problem can be solved only after patches from the developers.

A bug with a garage in Saints Row / the hero ended up in the void

Sometimes when parking a vehicle in a garage, the player's character is thrown somewhere underground or into an empty space. You can fix this by reloading your last save.

Cannot attack the enemy / the hero does not shoot

Sometimes in missions when you need to eliminate enemies, the main character cannot use firearms - only fists. Or refuses to attack at all. The only solution is to restart the mission from a key point.

Co-op (co-op mode) does not work / can not play with a friend

First, both players need to go to the pause menu and accept the EULA again. Both players then need to exit to the main menu. The host must start a new session in Host mode and send an invite to a friend.

The bug with the need to re-accept the agreement should be fixed with future patches.

Audio issues in Saints Row

Launch Sound Troubleshooter by right-clicking on the volume icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. Follow the instructions of the program.

Game freezes / DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error / black screen

Perhaps the problem is overheating of the video card. Check if the fans of her cooling system are blocked by adjacent wires. If everything is in order with this, then try resetting the overclock: go to the MSI Afterburner application and click the Reset button (if such a program is not installed, then the video card most likely did not overclock).
