Tower of Fantasy on PC - how to fix crashes and increase FPS

 Technical issues and graphical tweaks to Genshin Impact's main counterpart in a techno-fantasy setting

The open-world concept from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild appealed to many players: incredible freedom of action, diverse locations, and many non-obvious mechanics. All this was very requested in the MMORPG genre, and the creators of Genshin Impact were the first to successfully transfer the concept to an online game. And the very creation of Hoyoverse is now getting a lot of clones, successful and not very successful. Tower of Fantasy is rather one of the most successful ones - it is not for nothing that tens and hundreds of thousands of players play it at the same time. However, the project is still in early access and has technical issues, including graphics optimization.

In this comprehensive guide, we will first display the real system requirements (except official ones) of Tower of Fantasy on PC, then we will deal with crashes and other common bugs, and at the end, we will determine the best graphics settings for maximum performance without noticeable deterioration in the picture.

What kind of computer do you need for Tower of Fantasy (system requirements)?

We studied the tests of the game on different hardware at different resolutions and came to the conclusion that the official system requirements are not far from the truth:

Unfortunately, the official system requirements only target 1080p (1920x1080). Therefore, below we have compiled recommendations for the remaining resolutions, based on the tests studied.

Tower of Fantasy technical issues

where to download the crack

Unfortunately, the game has no fan crack.

Tower of Fantasy not connecting to the server/servers not working / Error 2618

This happens if the game servers are overloaded, or technical work is underway. Just try again after a while (sometimes the next day). You can also try to connect to another game server (under a different name; selected in the main menu).

You can only check the server status on the official Tower of Fantasy Twitter account. See if the server situation is mentioned in recent posts.

Won't start / freezes on startup / black screen / vcruntime140_1.dll error

I. Download and install RuntimePack. This is a complete set of all libraries necessary to run games.

II. Verify the integrity of the game files on Steam:

  1. start Steam;
  2. go to the "Library" section;
  3. right- click on the game name ( Tower of Fantasy ) in the list on the left and open the properties;
  4. in the "Local files" tab, click "Verify integrity of game files";
  5. wait for the process to complete.
III. Disable antivirus, MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner, and other similar software.

"Not enough memory" error

Your PC is running out of RAM. The best solution is to increase the amount of RAM to at least 8 gigabytes. Increasing the swap file probably won't help. Also, be sure to close your browser before launching any game. Especially if it has a large number of open tabs.

Error 0xc0000001 / 0xc0000005 in Tower of Fantasy

This is a problem with Windows system files. Some of them may be damaged. Perform a system restore or reinstall Windows. To check and repair corrupted system files, open a command prompt and type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes).

Error 0xc000007b

Reinstall or update your video card drivers. It is advisable to do a clean install to reset unsuccessful settings.

Tower of Fantasy slows down / lags / low FPS

I. Update video card drivers:

  • NVIDIA GeForce. The site itself will select the appropriate drivers. Just click "Search" and then "Download Now". After the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
  • AMD Radeon. Scroll down to Search for your product and select your graphics card under Graphics. Click the Submit button. On the page that opens, click LMB on your version of Windows and click "Download". Once the download is complete, run the downloaded file and follow the instructions in the installer.
Important: Be sure to restart your computer after updating your drivers.

II. Reduce the quality of graphics in the game: post-effects ( Post Production ), anti-aliasing ( Anti-Aliasing ), drawing distance ( View Distance ), and the number of visible players ( Same Screen Wanderer ). Let's take a closer look at the graphics options below.

Setting up graphics in Tower of Fantasy / how to increase FPS (frame rate) in the game

Setting up graphics in Tower of Fantasy / how to increase FPS (frame rate) in the game

To access all settings, click the Advanced Settings button to the right of the Same Screen Wanderer option.

  • Same Screen Wanderer (number of visible players). Sets the maximum number of other players' characters visible on the same screen. You cannot turn them off completely, but you can reduce them to 5–10. We recommend doing this.
  • Texture (texture quality). Resolution of textures on the surfaces of objects. The higher the quality, the more video memory will be used. The maximum ( Original ) is available only to owners of video cards with 4 gigabytes of memory and above. The rest will have to be reduced to high ( High ) or even medium ( Medium ).
  • Material Quality (shader quality). The textures themselves are only the basis for the surface. Surface materials become similar to themselves thanks to shaders. However, in cartoon style, the work of complex shaders is not always noticeable. Therefore, here you can choose medium quality ( Medium ), without any noticeable harm to the picture.
  • Vegetation Detail (vegetation density and visibility). Even at the maximum quality, the vegetation is not so dense. Therefore, if there is not enough FPS, due to a small amount of memory or a weak processor, then the vegetation can be reduced to medium quality ( Medium ) or completely disabled. With a cartoon picture, the meadows will still look good.
  • View Distance (drawing distance). Another processor-dependent setting, it is responsible for the quantity and quality of objects in the distance. Downgrading to High from Original will still leave the scenery nice and free up a lot of resources. But maybe someone will have to lower the quality even more.
  • Post Production (post-effects). Apparently, due to the port from a mobile device, this option eats a lot of resources - the most "gluttonous" in the game. Usually, any relatively modern video card could easily cope with post-effects, but not this time. If there is not enough FPS, then lower it to medium quality.
  • Full-Screen Display (full-screen mode). It is better to enable full-screen mode so that the system allocates maximum resources to the game itself, without maintaining the desktop.
  • Resolution (screen resolution). If full-screen mode is enabled, the resolution will automatically be set to the desired one. And if it is off, then you can choose the native resolution of your screen (for example, 1920x1080). Then the game will run in full screen in borderless window mode - this will allow you to easily move the mouse cursor between monitors (useful for streamers).
  • Anti-Aliasing (smoothing). It is not clear what anti-aliasing method is used in the game, but owners of older video cards complain about poor performance at maximum quality 8x (eight passes). Apparently, this is not FXAA, but something more demanding. Try setting it to 2x or turning it off completely (the latter is not recommended).
  • FPS (max frames per second). Set the value here to 30 for a weak PC, 60 for a slightly more powerful one, and 120 for a relatively modern and productive one.
  • Shading (shadows). You can completely turn off all the shadows in the game, which will significantly increase FPS, but make the picture much less attractive. We do not recommend doing this.
Don't worry if you had to lower the quality of many graphics options - the PC version of Tower of Fantasy doesn't look that bad even on low graphics settings (see video above)!
