Updated versions of Metal Gear Solid are indeed in active development. Konami is about to release remasters of the first three parts of the cult stealth action movie. A recent rumor from journalists is confirmed by an authoritative insider with the nickname Dusk Golem, who received information from one of the developers.
According to an insider, Metal Gear Solid will receive remastered versions of three games for PC and next-generation consoles. Dusk Golem specifically emphasized that they are creating remasters, not full-fledged remakes. New versions of the cult game will be released separately and an updated version of the first Metal Gear Solid will be released first. Later, Konami will release compilations that will include several games at once and various digital bonuses.
According to an insider, the announcement of the Metal Gear Solid remaster will take place as part of the Tokyo Games Show 2022. The game is expected to be released this year or early 2023.
