CD Projekt Says The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Release Scheduled For Later This Year

CD Projekt has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is slated for release on next-gen consoles later this year.

During the company's first-half earnings announcement, CD Projekt President and CEO Adam Kiczynski said today that the game is "on track" for a Q4 2022 release.

The release of the new generation of The Witcher 3 was originally scheduled to be released last year and then delayed until the second quarter of 2022.

However, in April, CD Projekt again delayed its release and began development in-house to complete the project. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game were developed by an external company, Saber Interactive, who previously also ported the game to the Nintendo Switch. At the time, CD Projekt said it was "evaluating the amount of work to be done" on the game and dismissed suggestions that the product was in development hell.
