Useful tips for Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed

General tips and tricks: how the Gene Blender works, move around the map quickly, unlock new weapons

Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed is a completely remastered remake of the classic action comedy, in which the alien Krypto continues his work to enslave the Earth. As always, gamers are waiting for sparkling jokes, spacious and diverse locations, a lot of alien gadgets with which they can achieve real anarchy in the open world. In addition, the main character has several supernatural abilities.

General information about the game

Unlike its predecessor, in which you gradually built your arsenal from scratch and unlocked combat abilities, in the second part, anarchy begins right off the bat. The Russians blow up the Furon station from the first game, KGB operatives ambush our hero Krypto, who is vacationing in Bay City. Stranded and constantly harassed by these suited agents, our hero must get to the bottom of the Russians' insidious machinations before it's too late.

Useful tips for Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed

From this moment begins an intricate story of intrigue, action, and travel to different parts of the world. Unlike other open-world games where you get into the game world from the very beginning or have complete freedom of action, everything here is a little more structured. There are missions and side quests, there are bonus rewards for completing special additional tasks that appear right during the main story. In addition, you will not linger on the same map for a long time: the developers have prepared for you 5 cities from different continents and even outside the Earth.

Usually, when a remake of a classic game comes out, it often differs from the original by having a lot of additional features and functions, making the game look more modern. In the case of Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, there are not so many changes compared to the original, and this, on the other hand, should please the fans.

The biggest difference from the original game, which was released in 2006, is due to the significant improvements in graphics, which is in line with the modern era of the gaming industry. Load times have been increased, stability has been improved, the local split-screen co-op has been improved, and is much smoother than its predecessor.

Below, we've compiled some relevant and important tips to help you find secrets, collectibles, boss fights, and other aspects of the game.

Complete the main story

In most open-world games, the story takes a backseat as your primary interest is exploring the huge sandbox. But in this case, it is highly recommended to focus on the passage of the game's story first. The main reason for this is that in this way you will open all the weapons prepared for you, new abilities, some gameplay aspects, alien technologies and all game locations between which you can move at any convenient time.

The main campaign has 28 tasks, and by completing them one by one, you should be able to complete them in approximately 15 hours. However, the length of the main story still depends on the choice of difficulty, as there are some tasks that will be difficult to complete on the first and even third attempts. But by the time you get to the end of the story, you should have quite a lot of powerful equipment. After the end of the game, you will be able to use the entire arsenal in the open world.

Don't worry about additional tasks

During the passage of any story task, additional tasks will appear on the screen that you can complete before the mission is completed. Completing them will allow you to get a higher rating and increase the reward in the form of resources for improvement.

Most of these goals are quite simple and easy, from using a certain weapon against enemies to performing certain actions a certain number of times. Oftentimes, you may not even notice their appearance due to how intense each stage of the story is, but you should not be upset if you miss one or two additional objectives.

At any time, you can return to completed missions and go through them again through the Holopox menu (when interacting with a flying saucer). You are also given access to the entire arsenal, and due to special modifications, you can simplify or complicate the task. So just focus on the story and come back later if you want.

Use a hoverboard to save time

The maps in Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed are quite large. Although they are not as stunning compared to modern open-world games, for the time when the original second part came out, they were considered large. To go from one end to the other, you will have to spend a lot of time. But you can save it by holding down the Shift key.

As a result of pressing this key, a small energy hoverboard will appear under Crypto, and you will be able to travel on it throughout the city. And if you pump this "board", then it will kill your enemies. Yes, you can travel on a flying saucer, which also has a disguise, but you are limited in that you can only land and take off in special landing zones. There are not so many of them on the map, and each must first be unlocked! And don't forget to complement the hoverboard with your jetpack. In general, if you want to become more mobile, be sure to upgrade your dash and jetpack.

Unlock new landing zones

As you progress through the main storyline of Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed, more side activities will appear. One of the most useful has to do with the Acrewoodle statues. Interact with the idol of this alien deity to receive a request from him. Once you complete it, you will greatly simplify the movement on a huge map.

Arkwoodle's objectives can be as simple as firing a few shots from your weapons directly at the idol, or slightly more complex and incomprehensible (for example, bringing three hypnotized women to him). But as a result of fulfilling the request of the idol, you will unlock a new landing zone: from here it will be possible to take off or land on a flying saucer. This in turn makes it much easier to move around the map and gives you a new area where you can use your plate to kidnap more people and improve your skills.

In addition, by unlocking all the Arcwoodles (drop zones), you will gain access to new weapons. You will be able to summon a giant underground alien that will devour anyone unfortunate enough to be in its range.

Blending Genes for Beginners

Krypto is an experienced alien conqueror, and from the very beginning of the game he has access to psychic skills and some types of alien weapons. However, the available arsenal is far from ideal: as you progress through the story, the difficulty of the game increases, so those skills and weapons that were available at the very beginning will no longer be effective even at the minimum difficulty level.

To counter this, Crypto's colleagues at Furon gave him the ability to combine those collected in the Gene Blender. Krypto uses the kidnapped people to change his DNA and enhance the abilities available to him. For example, mixing hippie genes increases the rate at which hippie bodies are stolen while amplifying telekinesis requires one policeman, one soldier, and two KGB agents. You can also jump into a flying saucer to abduct a huge number of people and get a significant increase in the effectiveness of specific abilities. And we strongly recommend doing this when you have free time between tasks or if you are faced with some kind of difficult task that does not allow you to move on in the storyline. If you are struggling to find a specific type of target such as a police officer, KGB agent, or Yakuza, try to destroy their headquarters (buildings) with the help of flying saucer weapons. This will lead to their mass appearance and potential abduction.

Improve telekinesis

In addition to high-tech weapons, Crypto is lucky in that he has some supernatural powers available to him. From the ability to erase memories to the ability to force a target to follow him to his doom. Or enemies can protect you at the cost of their lives. In general, the game has a lot of fun abilities.

One of them is especially useful. We strongly recommend that you improve it as soon as possible. It's about telekinesis. This is a powerful skill that allows you to lift objects and opponents into the air, and then throw them at any distance. This ability is not only effective but also fun. Therefore, it should be improved to the maximum so that you can lift into the air and throw larger objects.

Playing with friends is fun!

Chaos loves company, and what could be better than to sow real anarchy with a friend in the form of explosions and flying bodies. Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed has a co-op mode, and if you can, you should definitely bring a friend with you.

Together with him, you can explore various locations, and complete side quests or a story campaign. Also, if you happen to own a game on Steam, you can use Steam Share to invite a friend of yours who doesn't even own a copy of the game. If you like a live company, then pay attention to the local multiplayer: invite a friend to visit and play with him on the same TV/monitor thanks to the split-screen function.
