Modern Warfare 2 COD skin transfer, can MW 1 cosmetics be transferred?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is coming to PC and console soon. If the official release of the game is scheduled for October 28, 2022, those who have made the decision to pre-order the game will be able to take advantage of early access to the campaign from October 20, 2022. Note that the pre-order of the game also allows you to get new in-game rewards.

Will we be able to transfer the skins from MW 1 to MW 2?

No, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will not allow you to transfer Modern Warfare skins to your new game account. Conversely, it will not be possible to transfer your skins from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 to Modern Warfare 1. MW2 is a sequel, a game in its own right, and not an update. This is the reason why all skins obtained in MW1 will not be transferred when launching the multiplayer mode of MW2.

Note that if players choose to pre-order the Vault Edition of MW2, they will receive the Ghost Legacy Pack which contains skins and weapon blueprints usable in Modern Warfare 1 and Warzone 1.
