Unlock Crucible in Muspelheim

You can unlock the Muspelheim Crucible relatively early in the gameplay in Svartalfheim if you take a good look around here. In this region, you can find two Muspelheim seed pieces that combine to form a key that grants you access to Muspelheim.

After finding the first half, the corresponding favor, The Crucible, will start. In the following, we show you the localities of both seed pieces in detail.

Find first seed piece

The first half of the World Seed can be found at Modvitnir's Machine southwest of Bay of Generosity in Svartalfheim. After docking at the boat dock, climb up the crane on the right to get to a legendary chest with the seed piece.

Find second seed piece

For the other half of the seed piece, go to the jetty at Dragon Beach, southeast of Bay of Generosity. Climb up onto the footbridge here and turn left at the large dwarf statue into the Alberich cave. Here on the right is a legendary chest covered in rock. Grab one of the fire bombs from the other side to destroy the rock. You can then open the chest and get the second seed piece.

Complete all Crucible challenges

With the assembled key, you can now travel to the Crucible in Muspelheim via any mystical gateway and face the 15 challenges there. The Crucible works according to the following rules:

  • The exams take place in the main square and three side chambers.
  • Each side chamber has a sword stuck in the floor, each with a different rune inscribed on it (F, N, and R).
  • First, you must complete the first two trials in each side chamber. You can then open the Norn Chest in the main square and interact with the sword behind it to unlock the final 9 challenges.
  • In each side chamber, you can now complete a third test.
  • The six final challenges take place in the main square. On the ground, you can now see six rune combinations (RN, RF, NF, FR, FN, and NR) here.
  • You must repeat the corresponding tests in the side chambers in order to form the corresponding rune combination.
  • An example: If you want to unlock the final challenge for the RN combination, you must repeat any trial in the R side chamber and the N side chamber.
  • Repeat for all combinations to complete all 15 Trials.
