In God of War: Ragnarok, 48 Odin's Ravens can be found scattered across six of the nine worlds available to explore. However, unlike God of War, you don't just collect them. As a reward for completing The Eyes of Odin quest, you can open six chests in Niflheim with special items: a set of armor and runic attacks.
Note: In some locations, you won't be able to collect all the Ravens the first time you visit them. As you'd expect, you'll be returning to the first few areas later and will be able to access previously inaccessible Ravens using the new gear. If you haven't found all the birds in the region, that means you just can't access them yet.
In God of War: Ragnarok, like in God of War (2018), you have to repeatedly explore different worlds and discover more and more areas with each new visit. Because Kratos is wearing his gear, there are times when you might see an item in a screenshot that you don't have access to yet - this will be a spoiler for some players. We have listed the birds depending on when you visit these locations. The second and third visits are noted additionally.
Tips for Finding Odin's Ravens
If you've played God of War (2018), then you know that Odin's ravens can be hard to spot or hit with an axe. Here you will find something similar. However, we have two simple tips to make your search a little easier.
Listen carefully to the "cawing" of the ravens. They are often much easier to hear than to see. If you hear them, it usually means that they are somewhere nearby. Look around and follow the sound, especially if you have a surround sound.
Return to missed birds. Finding ravens is only half the battle. They are not always easy to hit, the Leviathan ax is slow and heavy. It's great for fighting enemies but not as good for shooting birds, especially when they're flying through the sky. If you can't hit a bird that is far away, then you will most likely be able to get closer to it the next time you return to the location.
Around the middle of the game, you will unlock a tool that will make it much easier to kill these birds. Remember where the bird is and come back when you have this tool.
What rewards can you get for finding all the ravens
In Niflheim there is a large white tree filled with birds: all Odin's crows fall here when you destroy them in other worlds. As you progress through the Eyes of Odin quest, you will be able to open new chests with rewards.
In total, six chests can be found near the tree. The first three contain armor pieces, while the other three give you heavy rune attacks for each weapon.
The armor set is a great reward for your hard work. This set helps in healing Kratos and it doesn't take long to get it. Armor is a great choice in the mid to late stages of the game. Two items from the armor set provide 15% additional healing, and three - 30%.
- 6 Ravens - "Girdle of Raven Tears" - Increases the amount of health received from stones, rage, and equipment;
- 12 Ravens - "Bracers of Raven Tears" - increased amount of health received from stones, rage and equipment;
- 18 Ravens - Cuirass of Raven Tears - Low chance based on luck to summon a Healing Haze on every successful hit.
- 28 Ravens - Heavy rune attack "Breath of Thamur" (Breath of Thamur);
- 38 Ravens - Heavy rune attack "Meteoric Strike" (Meteoric Slam);
- 48 Ravens - Heavy rune attack "The Finger of Ruin".
Once you have opened all six chests, you will have to defeat the boss in the training area of Niflheim, opposite the store, in order to complete the task.
All Ravens of Odin in Svartalfheim
Svartalfheim is the realm of the gnomes in God of War Ragnarok and is the first area where you'll encounter Odin's henchmen. There are a total of 13 birds to be found here, but you will only be able to access nine of them the first time you visit the area.
#1 - Aurvangar Wetlands
The first green bird in Svartalfheim is in the swamps of Aurvangar, almost immediately after you leave the Mystic Gate. Move left until you reach a small camp. Facing the camp, go to the right and you will notice a bird on top of the mountain. Kill her with the Leviathan Axe.
No. 2 - Nidavellir
There is only one Vvoron in the city of Nidavellir, it is located in the city square with the statue of Odin, to the left of Sindri's shop. Look at the house with the water wheel.
#3 - The Watchtower
The Watchtower houses another one of the birds that you can see while taking a boat ride. Climb up to it and go to the place where the Draugr Pit is located.
#4 - Radsvinn's Rig
Directly opposite the Watchtower, on the same island, you will find an installation where another Odin's raven lives. Go to the chest located in the area that is to the left of the tower. Look up and to the left of the chest towards a hook supported by a giant crane.
#5 - Althjof's Rig Machine
Another of the many birds in Bounty Bay sits near Althiof's drilling rig. When you leave your boat at the drilling site, go up the chain and you will immediately find a raven - he is sitting behind a destructible wooden barrier.
No. 6 - Lyngbakr Island
Once you've completed The Weight of Chains side quest, you'll be able to access this Odin's Crow.
Complete the mission until you get access to incendiary bombs. To the left of the bombs, you will see a gate, open it and take the explosives. Carry it through the gate and go right. You will come across some gold stones. Break them, and then get over to the other side. To the right of the legendary chest, you will find a passage - crawl through it. Now look to the left. You will notice a bird on Lingbakr's back.
No. 7 - The Forge
There are two Odin's ravens in the Forge, but you can only get to one of them the first time you visit the location. Climb up on the train. Once you enter the Forge, continue on until the rock is on your left. Wait on this path until you see a bird flying nearby. Kill her with your ax before moving on to the next area. If you missed it, you can come back here much later.
No. 8 - Jarnsmida Pitmines
When you first get to the mines, kill all the enemies and find the chain. Climb up it to get to the bottom of the shaft with an Artifact and some strange fungus.
Take the Artifact (part of the Leaving Things collection) and look out into the bay towards the faucets. You will see one of Odin's ravens flying. If you missed it, you can come back here much later.
No. 9 - The Applecore
The Core is the last area in Svartalfheim, at least on the first visit. This is where you will rescue Tyr, the Scandinavian god of war. Follow the path through the shaft until you reach a puzzle where Kratos and Atreus have to split up. When you get to the other side, you should see a door on your right that leads to Tyr and a place where you can walk along the wall. If you continue to look to the left, you will see a bird sitting on the ruined shelves.
You can go through the shaft in the opposite direction - and this will happen if you miss this raven for the first time. If you missed it, you can come back here a little later.
This is the first part of the Ravens in the location. You can find the rest of the birds when you get to Svartalfheim for the second time in the story. There may be spoilers in the descriptions and pictures below!
#10 - The Forge
This bird will only become available after traveling to the top of the Forge with Brock as part of the story.
Make your way to the top of the Forge next to the giant bell. Facing the bell, turn left and you will see Brock's small workshop. On the wall directly above the golden chain, you will see a green bird. The chain is needed to go down to the main area with the big bell.
No. 11 - Alberich Hollow
You can only find the green bird in Alberich's Gorge after acquiring a weapon from the Forge in Svartalfheim with Brock. You will only be able to access this area by using this weapon to climb onto Radswinn's vehicle.
Once you have this weapon, climb up the rig. When you reach the giant gnome statue, turn left and go forward. Use the first pot of explosives to open a path and then stop when you get to the second pot. Eliminate the enemies here and then look back from where you came from in the direction of the gnome statue. The raven is on the rock, to your left.
No. 12 - Alberich Island
You can only enter the area with this raven after you purchase a weapon from the Forge in Svartalfheim with Brock as part of the story. Use it to the left of the chest on the island to go upstairs.
You'll find the spirit as part of the Lost Treasure favor to your left, but if you go up and to the left, you'll see debris that can be broken with a sonic arrow - the bird flies around in a circle behind it.
No. 13 - Alberich Island
Follow the path after getting the previous raven on Alberich Island. This one is in the gap between the rocks, to the right of the Washed Shore treasure map.
All Ravens of Odin in Alfheim
Alfheim is the second major area you can explore in God of War Ragnarok. There are ten ravens of Odin in total, but you can only collect six on your first visit. The rest will become available later, after obtaining a special tool.
No. 1 - The Strond
Follow the path up until you reach a high point in the canyon with a small circle on the ground next to the chest. When you exit this area, walk forward until you are on a large stone bridge overlooking the crest of the Temple of Light. In the distance, you will see a dead tree. The bird sits on a tree near the first chest, a little further you will see the purple Twilight Stone for the first time.
#2 - Temple of Light
Follow through the Temple of Light until you reach the Light of Alfheim. Once you've done this, turn right onto the large spiral staircase. Follow it for just a few steps and then drop it down from the left side. You will find yourself in a small area with an Artifact, a legendary chest, and one of Odin's ravens.
The green bird is behind the metal bars, next to the purple Twilight Stone.
Aim at the bottom left of the crystal and position yourself as Kratos so that the line turns blue. Once you're in position, drop your axe.
#3 - Temple of Light
The second bird is located in the room in front of the chest. Kill the light elves that appear and you will see a staircase surrounded by purple crystals on both sides. Look to the left for one of the ravens perched on a distant building.
No. 4 - The Canyons
Once you complete the main story quest "Groa 's Secret", you will gain access to the Canyon leading to The Barrens desert in Alfheim.
The crow can be seen to the right of the dwarf shop. The green bird does not sit still, so you will have to try to get as close to it as possible.
No. 5 - The Barrens
In the Barrens of Alfheim, two Odin's Ravens can be found, the first of which sits in a tree located west of the desert, next to a small structure that hides a legendary chest and knowledge.
#6 - The Barrens
The second of the birds in the Barrens is in the left eye of the giant skeleton in the north, directly opposite the location of the first raven in this location.
#7 - The Forbidden Sands
Raven in this part of Alfheim you will see behind the "statue" of the troll and knowledge in the southwestern area.
#8 - The Forbidden Sands
The second bird in the Forbidden Sands of Alfheim flies around the statue of Freyrs, west of The Burrows.
#9 - The Forbidden Sands
The green bird in this part of Alfheim is on top of the mountain where you fight the Frost Phantom. The raven sits on the right side of the building. Throw the ax well above the bird so as not to miss.
#10 - The Forbidden Sands
The last bird in Alfheim is the hardest to find, as you need to first destroy the trash under the outside entrance to the Elven Library. You will find a raven flying on the left side just after entering inside.
All the ravens of Odin in Vanaheim
Vanaheim is one of the largest areas in the game, and it's literally filled with the birds we need. Here you can find 15 birds, six of which become available during your first trip. To gain access to the remaining crows, you will have to return here in the story a little later.
#1 - Southern Wilds
This bird from the Southern wilds is located near the beginning of the location. When you enter the area, go forward and to the left. Watch out for the giant arch of roots. Go under it and you will find yourself near a small lake. You will see a raven flying in the sky above the water.
#2 - The Abandoned Village
The raven is inside the tree, but you have to climb the statue to see it. It can be found by exploring the main round building, which consists of several levels. Look for the green bird on the upper level, to the right of the rift entrance.
No. 3 - River Delta
The first bird from the River Delta sits to the left of the legendary chest, but first, you have to solve a puzzle involving a red berry and arrows. This will help you access the chest platform.
#4 - The Veiled Passage
The Hidden Pass Raven is located at the top of the area, next to the skeletons hanging from the roof.
No. 5 - River Delta
The second raven sits on top of a tree root located above the river. To hit him, you must find your way across the raised bridge by climbing the Hidden Passage and lowering the golden chain. You will see a bird below.
#6 - Goddess Falls
The bird flies in circles near the triple waterfall where you moor the boat. Climb one of the ledges to get to it.
That's all about the first part of the Ravens in Vanaheim, the rest you can collect when you return to Vanaheim in the story. Further, you will see spoilers in the pictures and in the text.
No. 7 - Eastern Barri Woods
You have the right to destroy this raven only after revisiting Vanaheim in the story towards the end of the game. The bird sits inside the tree, down the short path from the chest, and up the spiral staircase.
No. 8 - Freyrs Camp
The name of the area is a little misleading, as the raven in Frey's camp is actually not next to the camp itself, but to the north of it, if you go through the doors on the right side of the camp and the store.
We can't say for sure, but many players claim that this bird only spawns at night. Go left, and you will see a big blue circle hanging from the roots. The bird sits on a small tree above the pond.
#9 - The Jungle
You will be able to see this raven in the Jungle in the Vanaheim Crater area but to gain access to it, you will have to bring water back to the valley by completing the Return of the River quest obtained in the Jungle area. You will need to be able to go boating.
#10 - The Plains
Once you return the water to the crater by completing the Return of the River request in the Jungle in the Crater area in Vanaheim, you can get here and collect the bird by taking the boat to the left of the Jungle entrance.
#11 - The Plains
The second raven is located in a small gorge in the northeastern part of the Plains, just below and northwest of the Mystic Gateway. The bird sits inside the gap, which is located to the right of the crack in the rock, through which Kratos can climb.
#12 - The Plains
The third bird is located in the northwestern part of the Plains, opposite the poisoned gate leading to the chest. She sits in a rift under a red chest.
#13 - The Plains
The fourth raven of Odin in the Plains region is located on top of a cliff in the center of the location. You can see it if you look west from the frozen lightning.
#14 - The Plains
The last bird in the Vanaheim Crater area is easy to spot if you look at the Forgotten Materials Chest, which is located opposite the store in the eastern part of the Plains.
#15 - The Sinkholes
Once you've completed the Return of the River request received in the Jungle area, you can take the boat and sail along the path to the left of the Mystic Gate and at the Berserker Gravestone in the Pitfalls.
At the end of this river, moor the boat and turn around to see a raven perched on the rock opposite, to the left of the chain that opens up an alternate path out of this area.
All ravens of Odin in Midgard
Midgard is the smallest explorable world in God of War: Ragnarok. Six Ravens of Odin can be found here, and all of them are available on the first visit.
#1 - The Derelict Outpost
To the west of Tyr's Temple, at the end of a long and winding path, you'll find the Abandoned Outpost. Park your sleigh and jump over the wall, but don't go forward to the Mystic Gate or the chain that leads to Sindri's shop. Instead, look immediately to the left. You will see a stuck ship frozen between the rocks above you. Follow under the ship and look into the large hole in its hull. The first raven of the Abandoned Outpost sits over a dead body.
#2 - The Derelict Outpost
This bird in Midgard is located just behind the store. It is located on the right, on a small wooden pillar with a swinging mechanism underneath. To kill her, Kratos will have to throw the ax a little higher.
No. 3 - Lake of Nine
Look around the Temple of Tyr. On the sled, follow near the temple and move as if you were driving towards frozen lightning. The raven is inside a small ice cave on the south side.
No. 4 - Lake of Nine
Do not go inside the shelter. Instead, stop your sleigh at the giant stone doors. This Raven sits above a large chain covered in snow, just outside the entrance to the Raider Hideout in the eastern part of Midgard.
No. 5 - Well of Urd
The easiest way to collect it is during the story, after visiting the Norns, but you can go the same way as before, through a crack in the cliff.
At the Well of Urd, climb up and squeeze through the crack in the wall. Climb up the back wall after the crack. When you get close to the top, you will see markers on the wall that indicate that you can move to the left instead of jumping up. Go ahead and track the red flag fluttering in the wind. Look at the mountain behind this flag. The bird sits on a pole opposite the camp.
No. 6 - The Oarsman
Get to the statue of the Rower in Midgard. You can get here by turning right at the broken part of Tyr's statue in the Shore of Nine. Proceed forward through the quest until you kill the centaur, then climb up the ice and pull the giant chain from the other side. This will open the second set of stairs. Approach the frozen ship and look at the statue of the Rower located to your right. You will see the Raven of Odin sitting on a stone above the knee of the statue.
All the ravens of Odin in Helheim
Only two ravens can be found in Helheim, and both are available when you first visit the location. If you missed one of the birds, you can return here at any time.
No. 1 - Helgrind
The first Raven in Helgrind is right next to the Mystic Gate you pass through when returning to Hel with Atreus as part of the storyline. It flies in circles to the left of the pillar that needs to be destroyed with a spear.
No. 2 - Helgrind
The second bird in the Helgrind area of Helheim sits next to the Mysterious Gate at the end of the area.
All the ravens of Odin in Muspelheim
In Muspelheim, you can find two ravens of Odin. Both are available on the first visit.
No. 1 - Sutr's Forge
This bird is located directly opposite the forge itself, in the arch, to the right of the lava flow descending from the cliff.
#2 - Burning Cliffs
The last raven in Muspelheim is on the way back to the Mysterious Gate, to the right of the Legendary Chest. This area can be accessed by going through a crack in the wall.
