In The Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me, as Kate, you hear a girl cry and arrive at a door you suspect she is behind. This door is sealed with a combination lock and you have to find the code for it first. We help you to discover this door code in the room.

Discover new ability and door code
After your group gets separated again at The Devil in Me's hotel and you're able to fix the third electrical box, Kate will take the lead. While exploring the hotel, she hears a crying girl and finds the door shown in the screenshot above.
Of course, you cannot get in through this damaged door. So keep running to the next door, through which you can enter the room next door. In the first room, you will find a small white dresser with a notepad on it. Here half of the first leaf was torn off.
If you now look at your on-screen control pad on the left of the image, you will see a pencil. That's when Kate gets a new ability. You can use the pencil to make the door code visible on the note.
Use door code and reach crying girl
After using the pencil to make the note on the torn sheet visible, the door code will be displayed - it is 1999. The image below shows you exactly where you will find the code and what it is.
Now go to the next room, where you will find a door with a combination lock. Enter the found code into the lock and the door to the room with the crying girl will open.
