  • Loot: Ifrit materia x1 (allows you to summon Ifrit ).

This quest will become available at the start of Chapter 2. You simply have to defeat Ifrit to unlock him in the OMD.

M8-1-2: Thunderbird

  • Difficulty: 1/10.
  • Objective: we have data on a matter hidden in the nest of a thunderbird that lives on an island. Go there and get it.
  • Drop: Electro materia x1.
This mission is activated by completing the previous one. You will come across a single chest, which is in your path as you progress. The target is a group of three Thunderbirds that are vulnerable to Pyro.

M8-1-3: Action against the Genesis troops

  • Difficulty: 2/10.
  • Objective: We have found out that the Genesis troops are transporting a very valuable material that they despicably stole from Shinra. The security of our matter is not something we take lightly. Get it back immediately.
  • Loot: VIT plus materia.
This mission will be available from Chapter 3. There is only one chest in this mission, you will see it in the turnoff to the southeast. The target is a pair of Assassin G and two bloodhounds.

M8-1-4: Rematch with Bahamut

  • Difficulty: 2/10.
  • Objective: We have extensively analyzed the materia you recovered during your fight against Bahamut and believe we have isolated it in its current position. If you beat him, it is very possible that you can get a matter of a strange nature.
  • Loot: Bahamut Materia x1 (allows you to summon Bahamut ).
This mission will become available after completing the previous one. Again, it's your turn to beat the copper with Bahamut. Just in case, equip a Lightning Bracer if you have one, to prevent Lightning damage. For the rest, it is the same fight from the end of Chapter 2, but a bit more bulky. Kill him and you will unlock him in the OMD.

M8-1-5: Escape from Hojo's Laboratory

  • Difficulty: 3/10.
  • Objective: A monster has escaped from Hojo's laboratory. The ferocious creature has been fortified with matter and must be captured at all costs. You will have to hunt down the monster and recover the matter once it is under your control.
  • Loot: Revitalia Materia x1.
This mission will become available after completing the previous one. Your enemies are an epiornis and a replicator, a subspecies of those mean-spirited ostriches you already know. The more dangerous of the two is the epiornis, which can kick you for about 450 damage, so quickly take out the other so it doesn't get in your way while you dodge it and look for the counterattack.

M8-1-6: Mysterious Matter

  • Difficulty: 3/10.
  • Objective: we have detected the reaction of a highly powerful matter in some caves. We do not know its origin, since there do not seem to be copies of Genesis or Wutai troops in the area. There have been no reports of mako eruptions either, so it's best to look into the matter.
  • Loot: Odin's Materia x1 (allows you to summon Odin ).
This mission is activated by completing the previous one. You will come across two chests during this mission. The first one will be to the east, right at the beginning, the second one is just before the objective: hungry.
