The game is being developed by a third-party studio that is temporarily partnering with Sony for this project. They want to make the racing arcade as attractive to players as Forza Horizon with its open world and great variety. However, the game itself is reportedly based on the idea of the MotorStorm games, where the emphasis is on extreme racing and detailed damage.
Among decent arcade racing games, Sony's yet-to-be-announced game won't have many competitors. By and large, Forza Horizon remains the best representative of the genre. If the developers can successfully combine the basis of MotorStorm and the capabilities of Forza Horizon, we will have at least an interesting addition to the genre.
