Techland Announces Support for Custom Maps for Dying Light 2 on PC and Release of Developer Tools

Techland and mod.io have announced a collaboration to release custom map support for Dying Light 2 Stay Human on PC and launch developer tools as free downloadable content on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Starting today, players can create, upload, and share custom maps in the PC version of the game, as well as enter the Build Your City contest for a chance to win a share of the $50,000 prize pool.

“Over 700 custom maps were created for the first Dying Light game. By working with Techland to bring the next iteration of custom maps for Dying Light 2 Stay Human to PC and consoles, we aim to open up a wider audience for UGC than ever before. User-generated content is too good for players to miss out on. Making official mod support available to everyone is a goal we're excited to share with Techland and their creator community,” said Scott Reismanis, CEO and co-founder of mod.io.

The release of developer tools on PC is just the beginning of the collaborative effort. The main goal is to create official mod support for Dying Light 2 Stay Human. This includes mods available in the game for all players and on all platforms.

“We know you've loved the developer tools in Dying Light, and we're excited to announce with our mod.io partners that Dying Light 2 Stay Human now includes this incredible feature. Now our players have even more content and opportunities to create maps and stories. It's time to step up and show off your skills! So… what are you waiting for?” added Rafal Polito, Technology Developer at Techland.
