HI-FI RUSH: THE TRICKS TO MASTERING ROCK'S NEW TIMED XBOX EXCLUSIVE

Astonishing gamers from all over the world with a shadow drop, Tango Gameworks has released the interesting Hi-Fi Rush during the last live streaming signed by Microsoft. If you too are about to try your hand at this colorful adventure, available for free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, here are some useful tips.

Choose the right difficulty

When Hi-Fi Rush is started for the first time, you will be prompted to choose one of the four difficulty levels available, i.e. Easy, Normal, Difficult, or Very Difficult. Depending on the level of challenge selected, the gaming experience varies from different points of view, since each option offers different rules as regards the timing required in the combos, the resistance of the opponents, and the damage suffered by the protagonist.

Choose the right difficulty

In this case, therefore, we suggest you think carefully about the difficulty to choose, also and above all taking into consideration the musical component of the title: if you don't have too much desire to pay attention to the background music and perform the actions in time with the music, we advise against to calibrate the level of challenge towards each other. In any case, the choice of difficulty is not permanent and can be changed at any moment of the game with the exception of the phases of permanence of the refuge, between one stage and another.

Check the latency

As we said a little above, Hi-Fi Rush is a product in which the execution of moves to the rhythm of the music plays a fundamental role, especially if you don't play it on the lowest difficulty level. Precisely for this reason, it is important to make sure that there is no input lag and that everything is set up so that you can press the keys following the accompanying music.

Check the latency

In this regard, before starting your crazy adventure as Chai, we suggest you open the settings menu, scroll down to the Audio section and click on the 'Latency control' item. This will bring up a screen to check for input lag, and if not, you can precisely move a cursor to fix each problem.

Explore everywhere

There's nothing more wrong than going straight into Hi-Fi Rush missions. Although the music and the urge to face new enemies may cause the player to move quickly toward the next fight, attention must be paid to the surrounding environment. The developers have indulged themselves and have hidden many collectible items around the map: this means that you have to open your eyes and identify any alternative routes to find the dead ends, in which you can usually find boxes containing Devices (the game currency), health recharges and bonuses that allow you to increase your maximum health and energy.

Explore everywhere

Only in the first mission is it possible to touch 30,000 Devices, which is a figure high enough to allow you to purchase more than one upgrade on your first visit to the shop, where your ally Peppermint will be willing to exchange this currency for a series of additional skills o Permanent increases to health, energy, and special attack slots.

Help yourself with the interface

As you will also see when playing, performing the attacks in time with the music in Hi-Fi Rush is not mandatory, but strongly recommended. Hitting keys at random or completely ignoring the splendid soundtrack of the Tango Gameworks title has the only drawback of inflicting a reduced amount of damage. Given the bonus to the attack of the blows inflicted with the right rhythm, however, it is worth paying attention to the music and, if you really can't adjust based on listening alone, you can take advantage of the many on-screen aids with which it is impossible to lose the rhythm.

Help yourself with the interface

If you are a beginner, we suggest that you press the Back button on the Xbox controller to bring up a metronome called 'Rhythm Assistant' at the bottom of the screen which allows you to keep an eye on the beat and to land all the hits without problems. Once you become more proficient, you can decide to ignore the metronome and adjust the pressure of the keys both based on hearing and on interface elements such as the health meter, which pulsate just to the beat of the music. Also know that there are numerous other signals that contribute to going in time, such as the sound of applause and the icon of the notes that appears near the protagonist.

Timed Dodge

Combat to the rhythm of music is the main focus of Hi-Fi Rush, but in the Bethesda title it is important to perform any action in time, even those related to movement. In addition to the double jump, the dodge can also be timed correctly and this has its advantages. Unless you are suspended in the air (in this case the shot will always be single), you can perform up to three consecutive dodges that will help you escape from enemy attacks, reach a target quickly or avoid traps in the exploration phase. Dodges of this type also have a second bonus, as they activate a sort of magnet that attracts all Gadgets and other collectibles that are nearby.

Don't be greedy with super moves

Although Hi-Fi Rush's most common enemies don't require special attention to take down, there are more generously sized robotic creatures that have a protective shield. The only way to be able to break down the shield is to repeatedly hit the target without letting them rest and, in this regard, special attacks are the simplest way to break these defenses.

The techniques in question, which are performed with the simultaneous pressure of LS and RS, consume the reverb bar and unleash all the energy accumulated in Chai's bionic arm. Know that there is no need to conserve the reverb bar's charge, as this is reset at the end of each fight. Furthermore, once the technique has been used, you can easily recover the charge thanks to the batteries dropped by the enemies eliminated via the Go Thus, which involves pressing the attack button in time to the music at the end of a combo.
