For Honor: Afeera, presentation, combo, guide and tips for the new Hero

The start of the year brings a new hero, Afeera, to For Honor. We present it with some tricks to play it and avoid being demolished.

Once in a while, like every six months, a new hero, Afeera, appears on the desolate and war-ravaged lands of Heatmoor. This time it is during Y6S4 that the Hero is scheduled, for February 2, 2023.

Affera of the Travelers faction is referred to as the nemesis of the Vortigers. As for each Hero, he has a range of moves specific to his gameplay, we present all this to you, with some tips for playing him.

Affera, the new hero of For Honor

The Afeera are women, tactical geniuses, of Arab origin, protectors of the Sultana, they will terrorize the battlefield, armed with their mace and their shield.

The Hero is Hybrid style, he has a combo kit that will push the less attentive players to their last entrenchment. Extremely volatile, his fighting style is heavily bash-based and has a truly unique mix-up.

If you like doing all kinds of stunts and spectacular fighting styles then you will enjoy playing Afeera!

His style of play and his combos

His kit may look pretty basic but is actually quite diverse.

His style of play and his combos

There are of course the classic chain combos:

  • Light + Light
  • Light + Heavy
  • Heavy + Light
  • Heavy + Heavy

Each combo ending heavy attack has a different effect depending on which side you are attacking from. If the heavy attack hits left, it will destabilize the opponent, if it hits right, it will be unblockable, and if it hits above, it will be undodgeable.

Heavy attack dodges are pretty quick and can easily lead to a combo if you don't overdo it. Unlike the Berserker's dodge which, when parried, leads to a very severe punishment, this one is not too violent.

Be careful not to be too predictable and to diversify your attacks, otherwise, you will be easily punished. Avoid using the dash attack which is far too punishable.

His style of play and his combos

As said before, the Hero also relies a lot on his extremely powerful bash. Like the Valkyrie or the Vortiger, his combos are dotted with shield blows, but also kicks and dodges that can approach the Shinobi.

Note that all melee hits to increase the speed of end-of-combo heavy attacks, while keeping their properties, making them much harder to predict.

After each hit, you can cancel the recover of your attacks with a melee "Khassaki Kick" which leads to a new combo. You can also if you have little stamina left for example, do an “Astro Flip Cancel” dodge, which can also lead to a new combo.

Dodges feature the “Seismic Shield” property, acting as a deflection, you can start a combo right after with the “Heat Death” shield hit, giving a free unblockable heavy attack.
