Like a Dragon: Ishin: Unlock locked skills and activate orbs - Game Guide

 Ryoma is a man of stature and has the right fighting style for every player. But he still has a lot to learn and therefore not all skills are unlocked right at the beginning. Therefore, we show you here how you can activate the locked skills.

Level up skills with spheres

During the first two chapters, Ryoma learns fighting and its basics. There are four styles to choose from:

• street fighter
• swordsman
• gunslinger
• free dancer

Each style has its own capabilities and therefore its strengths and weaknesses. Whether you specialize in one style or maintain a balance is entirely up to you. You can activate the styles using orbs. Each time you level up, you get one gray practice sphere.

The colored orbs are each assigned to a style and can only be acquired by actively practicing the style in battle. For example, you can only acquire a Free Dancer Orb by fighting bandits as a Free Dancer. The skills are constructive and you must always follow the lines. This means that you can only purchase the skills that are closest to you.

Hint: Conveniently, you can swap out each gray orb used for a colored orb, so you can use the gray orb elsewhere. But beware, once a colored sphere has been placed, it can no longer be exchanged.

In each of the four styles, you will find several circles which are locked with a lock. These skills contain special and incredibly useful abilities that Ryoma must train before he can learn them. Only then will the lock light up red and you can remove it.

Unlock locked skills

In order to unlock the locked skills, you must advance in the main story. In total there are five different masters that you can find. Here you can learn different skills and open the locks.

Unlock Komaki Munemitsu Master

To train as a street fighter, you must visit the Komaki Dojo. This is in Fushimi on the right near a shrine.

Unlock Professor Shinbei Master

A somewhat unique professor with an interesting developer spirit is waiting for you in Mukurogai at the river's edge. Seek out the man and agree to a cannon test with him. There you can now learn how to properly halve cannonballs with a sword or pistol.

Unlock Ginryu Master

In order to upgrade the Free Dancer style, you need to find the Ginryu Dojo in Rakunai. It is located in the upper left half and occupies a large area. However, Ginryu himself will only teach you lessons if you fulfill his tasks. For example, you need to bring a rare sword to learn the second level.

Unlock Professor Jubei Master

In Sannocho, right next to side story 25 "Sword Jester", you will find a mysterious professor who talks about straw dolls. He has followed his passion for the last five years and built a straw doll castle, but the fighters come out of it with less than good.

Go in and face the challenge. You have to destroy the mechanical straw dolls, each color gives you a different number of points. The faster you are, the better. You will receive a prize for each completed three-star chamber. After that only straw doll trailers.

Unlock William Bradley Master

From Chapter 4, go to the red dot in East Umekojicho to find a gang of three men whispering to each other. Since there are several weapons on the ground and Ryoma sees this, they don't want to let him go anymore.

But then William Bradley comes and negotiates diplomatically with Ryoma. He takes him to his shop and teaches him new shooting techniques there in the future. You can always stop by his place for lessons or to do some shopping.
