The most anticipated games on iOS and Android in 2023: Warcraft, Harry Potter and Warzone Mobile

In this issue, you will find out what top games to expect on smartphones next year.

Every week we return to you with another selection of cool games for smartphones that you can't miss. And this time it's not just another top MMORPG or strategy game, but a list of the best projects on iOS and Android, which should be released in 2023. Of course, developers can change the release date at any time, and often there won't be; Well, except for the year. So I will focus on the pros of each of the games, and you write your list in the comments. Agreed? Go!

Warframe

Warframe

I'll start with Warframe Mobile, which should be a full port of the original Warframe. Yes, while Activision is making Warzone Mobile (more on that later) on the PC engine and console Warzone, Digital Extremes decided to just port their project to smartphones. Players are promised cross-play and one account with overall progress. Judging by the gameplay shown during Tennocon 2021, Warframe Mobile can be played using touch controls, and the buttons and interface are designed in such a way that they do not cover half the screen.

I note that in July of this year, the Warframe developers promised that they would conduct a community test. This is probably some kind of alpha testing, where you have to sign a non-disclosure agreement since even insiders do not share screenshots or videos. Or maybe the developers failed to conduct a test, so we are waiting for more information in 2023.

Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero

Moving on to cross-platform play Zenless Zone Zero. It's being made by the developers of Genshin Impact, only this time it's a mix of story-driven adventure in a Tokyo-like city and real-time combat where you switch between characters to create combos. Interestingly, in addition to very realistic graphics, the developers of Zenless Zone Zero focus on driving music that accompanies the player in video inserts, during battles, and exploring locations.

If we talk about the development stage of Zenless Zone Zero, then in August there was a CBT, and in September we were shown an 18-minute video in Japanese. So far, there is little news - the developers show new characters, among which, although there are boys, most of them are cute anime waifu.

Lineage W

Lineage W

Well, Lineage W is still available only in Southeast Asia, although the developers promised to almost unite the whole world with this mobile MMORPG. We were told about wars not just of clans, but of entire countries, but we have what we have. In fact, Lineage W is worth waiting for, if only because it brings back the spirit of that classic Lineage with isometric gameplay, which distinguishes it from realistic and three-dimensional MMORPGs. Also, the Asian gameplay shows that the developers are focusing on gloomy locations and a sea of blood.

By the way, at the end of October, Lineage W celebrated its first anniversary, that is, Asian players have already completed a bunch of seasons and participated in limited events. They also received the first unique class for this project. I am glad that when communicating with people from other countries, auto-translation will work in the chat, but if you don’t want to spend time farming resources and monsters, then Lineage W also has an auto-function for this.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile offers not only a battle royale mode but also a team-based deathmatch with domination, that is, you have to capture points and hold them. The game pleases with the graphics of the level of the original Warzone, as they use the same engine. We expect Warzone mobile to be the ultimate version that will eclipse Call of Duty Mobile, although Activision promises that the same classic online modes will be different.

We expect Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile to release on May 15, 2023, with beta testing likely to begin as early as December. So far, the game is in beta, and many elements are already ready. The developers claim that up to 120 real players will participate in the “royal battle” mode on one map, but there may still be bots. Well, the icing on the cake is cross-progress on a single account between different versions of Call of Duty and general events.

Mad World

Mad World

Well, MMORPG Mad World has become such an ambitious game that while it is going through a series of alpha tests. The development of the project is carried out both on PC and on smartphones with cross-platform support. This game takes the fact that it uses hand-drawn graphics, and its actions take place in a gloomy world where each NPC has its own emotions and backstory.

The developers of Mad World are doing everything possible to make the world of their brainchild unique, this applies to both locations and monsters that you have to fight against. I note that if you like the Silent Hill series, then you should definitely check out the game. By the way, Mad World uses a classless system - your role in the team depends on the weapons in your hands. And, of course, it will be possible to participate in PvE and PvP content.

Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Yes, World of Warcraft fans were waiting, if not for the transfer of the classic MMORPG, then at least something like Black Desert Mobile, only about the Horde and the Alliance. As in the story "The Monkey's Paw," they had to think carefully about what they wanted. Therefore, Warcraft Arclight Rumble was born. This is an arcade game with elements from the tower defense genre that Clash Royale fans will definitely like. But unlike its F2P counterpart, Archlight Rumble focuses not only on PvP and seasonal ranking with gifts but also on the story campaign, which is divided into missions. Thanks to her, you can quickly and painlessly collect new units in your set.

In Warcraft Arclight Rumble gameplay, you accumulate mana and use it to summon creatures and heroes like Uther the Lightbringer or Jaina Proudmoore. Of course, the generals are divided into factions, but not all representatives of each of the warring parties will be represented at the start.

Broken Ranks

Broken Ranks

Moving on, the developers of the isometric RPG Broken Ranks have announced plans for 2023. So far, a purely PC version is available, but after it the project will be released on iOS and Android, that is, even earlier than on the console. Development of the mobile version of Broken Ranks is already underway and next year players will be able to at least participate in closed beta tests. So far, the game is scheduled to release several updates that add dungeons for intermediate and advanced players.

Speaking of other changes that will be clearly reflected in the test version of Broken Ranks on smartphones, instead of updating the guild system, including wars between clans, the developers from Whitemoon Games will focus on reworking PvP to make this mode much more interesting for both beginners and for veterans. In general, for 2022 all the goals were achieved, which means that in the next one, fans will also be pleased.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened

In the end, I left Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, which offers Harry Potter fans everything they've ever dreamed of, only in a slightly stripped-down format. Hogwarts students will not only be able to attend various classes and receive animated cards, but also participate in duels of wizards and even historical events, such as a battle with a troll. In general, these events are tied just to the study of spells - Levy learned about su (or Levios y ?) and went to the women's toilet to wet the troll.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is currently available in China, and pre-registration is underway for the global version. For it, players will receive gems, gold, 1 pass to the library (whatever that means), and even a Nimbus-2000 broom. We expect at least a few OBTs of the English version of Magic Awakened in 2023, and if all goes well, then a full release.

And that's all for me, dear friends. Thank you for reading to the end - we are trying only for you. Wait for a new selection of mobile games, as well as videos with gameplay from new products. See you soon!
