All DREDGE endings - how to get bad and secret endings

DREDGE is a game about catching fish and unraveling the sinister mysteries of the deep. We have to not only sell the catch and improve our ship, but also explore the mysterious archipelago in Lovecraftian style. In this article, we will describe all the endings that a player can reach and tell you how to get them.

The project may seem very relaxing at first: we fish, travel between settlements, and explore the sea. But as night falls, it becomes clear that chthonic monsters, mysterious and creepy strangers, ancient civilizations, and something ... even more creepy, lurk behind the meditative fishing.

There are no spoilers here, so we warn you in advance: if you want to get all the emotions from the game, first try to play it yourself. And after, in case of difficulties, use the guide. What follows are spoilers.

The history of DREDGE is filled with intrigue. Even in the last minutes, the game does not give unambiguous answers and does not explain the events. Instead, it allows the player to independently interpret and understand the endings, of which there are two in the project.

How to unlock the "bad" ending

The bad ending is a standard DREDGE ending. It is received by most players who complete DREDGE for the first time. If you, despite numerous hints, continued to blindly follow the instructions of a stranger, the game will “punish” you for this.

To get the bad ending, the player must follow the main storyline. Do whatever the Collector tells you to do and recover all the missing relics. They are scattered around the world of the game, and you can find clues to the location and methods of obtaining from the Collector himself by asking the information you are interested in in the dialogue.

As soon as you hand over the last relic to the Collector, you have to go to one place on the map. Arriving there, you will activate the final cutscene, after which the credits will roll.

How to unlock the secret ending

It's hard to figure out how to get the secret ending. But getting it is a fairly simple process. After collecting all 5 relics, head to the Devil's Spine. On the unnamed island, you will find the mayor, who was mentioned several times in the dialogues. He went crazy controlling the Little Brain.

The island he is on is located in square P10. You should dock at the pier and talk with the old mayor to understand what is happening. Then return to Greater Marrow. To save time, you can teleport to Blackstone Isle.

Back in Big Salt, talk to the mysterious lighthouse keeper. If you have often returned to this island, you may have noticed that this character knows a lot more than he says. Now it's time to find out everything she has withheld. Select the Red Book option and keep asking until it disappears.

After receiving the information, swim to Basalt Island. It's time to confront the Collector. In a conversation with him, hide the last relic and repeatedly ask about the Red Book. Whenever such an opportunity appears in the dialogue, take a step closer. Continue until you get the opportunity to take the relic.

You now have the Red Book required to complete the game. Return to the lighthouse keeper in Big Salt. She will show you the place where you need to throw the item. Swim there and throw the book overboard. This is where the game ends and the credits begin.
