Adding NVIDIA's smart upscaling to the game with a mod
The AMD FSR 2 does a pretty good job of upscaling in the Resident Evil 4 remake. However, this is still a software solution, which is not much better than simply stretching the render to fit the screen resolution. If you have a GeForce graphics card, then you would probably prefer the NVIDIA DLSS solution, but, unfortunately, it is not in the release version.
Fortunately, enthusiastic fans have already created a modification that adds support for NVIDIA's smart upscaling to Capcom's new product.
How to add DLSS to RE4 (2023)
- Download and install the RE Framework utility.
- Download the latest version of DLSS.
- Unpack the downloaded archive and move its contents to the RESIDENT EVIL 4\reframework\plugins folder.
- Start the game.
- The ReFramework menu will appear on the left, it can be turned on / off with the Insert key.
- Find the TemporalUpscaling option in the menu and check the box next to Enable.
- After that, you will be able to select the DLSS quality level.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to disable AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 before running the game with DLSS.
