ARK: Survival Ascended, commonly known as ASA, embodies a complete overhaul of the game ARK: Survival Evolved (ARKSE). It is important to note that, unlike the original ARKSE game which uses Unreal Engine 4, ASA is based on Unreal Engine 5.

Create a tribe, tame, and breed hundreds of unique dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures, and explore, craft, build, and fight to reach the top of the food chain, these are the activities the game offers you. Ark: Survival Ascended crossplay available in the game? 

Good news for fans, Ark: Survival Ascended is indeed playable in crossplay! Between PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, you can play with all your friends!

The release of Ark: Survival Ascended is scheduled, in early access, for October 26, 2023, on Steam, then in November on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. We do not yet know the exact date for the console, but we will surely know very soon. Regarding the early access release, here is what Studio Wildcard responded to the community: 

We decided to adopt the Early Access model for several reasons. The most valuable reason is that we found it very constructive to develop our studio's original title, ARK: Survival Evolved, alongside ongoing community feedback. Since ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) will feature its own set of gameplay features, we wanted the opportunity to do the same by tapping into the wisdom of many players.

How long will Ark: Survival Ascended Early Access last? 

The developers plan to remain in Early Access until the end of 2024. That being said, as they progress with their development, the studio will share ongoing updates that will help define a more precise timeline for the release of the Early Access game.
