CoD MW3: 5 of the best weapons and how to equip them perfectly

At the launch of CoD MW3, as before, the question arises as to which of the countless weapons are the best. Once you've found your dream weapon, the next question is about upgrades: Which grips, magazines, or attachments are the best?

We also have the right equipment for our 5 favorite weapons. You can read how best to level your weapons here:

Which 5 weapons are the best to launch?

#5: The Lockwood 300 – Shotgun

If you like it intimate and hardcore, it's best to use the Lockwood 300. As a shotgun, it's great for close combat and does a lot of damage even in the basic version. However, you have to aim it correctly so that it can achieve its full potential.

You should give the weapon this equipment:

  • Muzzle: GW Max-.99
  • Barrel: Matuzek 812 barrels
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Stock: Heist Stock Mod
  • Trigger: Maelstrom Dual Trigger

With these modifications, you can fire from both barrels of the shotgun at the same time. This means you do double damage. The new muzzle extends your range as far as possible for a melee weapon. The new laser and the new shaft, on the other hand, shorten the sprint-to-fire time enormously.

What are Sprint to Fire and ADS

The term Sprint to Fire refers to the time it takes you to slow down, aim, and shoot from the sprint. The shorter the time, the better. This way you can surprise your opponents, for example by quickly rushing towards them around the corner.

ADS, on the other hand, stands for Aim Downsights Speed. This is the time you need to aim and shoot from the hip.

No. 4: The Lachmann Sub (MP5) – submachine gun

The Lachmann Sub is the equivalent of the standard Call of Duty submachine gun. It basically comes with a very high rate of fire and combines speed with real power at short to medium distances.

You should give the weapon this equipment:

  • Muzzle: EXF Huntress-90
  • Barrel: L38 Falcon 226mm
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Stock: LM Stockless Mod
  • Magazine: 40 Round Mag

This build is designed to maximize running speed while minimizing sprint-to-fire time and ADS. The muzzle suppresses the sound of your shots, which in turn increases the surprise factor. It also gives you an increased range.

Attention - the L38 Falcon 226mm barrel increases the difficulty of the weapon: in combination with the LM Stockless Mod as a stock, the recoil becomes harder. With a little practice, this shouldn't be a problem in the long run.

No. 3: The M4 – Assault Rifle

With the M4 we start in the top three. The weapon was already one of the best in previous Call of Duty titles and it also has a lot of oomph in CoD MW3.

You should give the weapon this equipment:

  • Muzzle: Harbinger D20
  • Barrel: Hightower 20″ barrel
  • Shaft: Tempus P80 Strike Stock
  • Magazine: 45 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: Phantom Grip

Even the basic version of the M4 is a great weapon. With the new barrel, it gets even more range and a greatly increased bullet speed. This means you can fight at long distances with a more reliable weapon.

The Tempus P80 Strike Stock helps with the increased weight, while the new rear handle gives you mobility.

#2: The Strikers – SMG

The Striker is a first-class heavy machine gun that was already popular in the beta. Due to some nerfs, it is now a little worse than the AMR9, but a lot more reliable.

You should give the weapon this equipment:

  • Muzzle: VT-7 Spiritfire Suppressor
  • Barrel: Striker Recon Long Barrel
  • Stock: Lachmann MK2 Light Stock
  • Magazine: 48 Round Mag
  • Optic: Slate Reflector

The Striker is also a fundamentally good weapon with a good balance between range, power, and speed. With the Striker Recon Long Barrel, you can extend the possible firing range even further. The bullet speed also increases again.

The 48-round Mag is perfect for mowing down 150 hit-point opponents. Thanks to the Lachmann MK2 Light Stock, the weapon remains easy to handle and does not become too heavy.

#1: Die MCW – ACR

MCW is the new name of the classic Call of Duty Advanced Combat Rifle and in CoD MW3 it is also the best weapon you can choose: The MCW brings you impeccable accuracy, damage, and recoil control.

You should give the weapon this equipment:

  • Muzzle: HMRES Mod Suppressor
  • Height: 16.5″ MCW Cyclone Long Barrel
  • Magazine: 40 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: RB Rapidstrike Grip
  • Optic: Slate Reflector

A generally good weapon, it needs a large magazine - hence the choice of the 40 40-round mag. The Slate Reflector helps enormously in finding your targets. The barrel installed here is currently the heaviest in the game. However, it also provides the most benefits for firing range, damage range, and recoil control.

The HMRES Mod Suppressor extends your range even more and ensures that you may no longer appear on your opponent's map. Finally, the rear handle ensures better handling and also allows you to shoot faster.
