We explain how you can override the motion control of the Nintendo Switch controller in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom if you don't like this feature.
One of the functions that is activated by default in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is known as the gyroscope, also called motion control when aiming. This, which a priori may be something quite cool, is also something that bothers many players, who feel that these controls do not allow precision.
Luckily, Nintendo allows you to deactivate the motion controls in this game very easily, so if you don't know how to do it, we will tell you in this entry our complete guide for your relief.
How to disable the motion controls on the controller?
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's motion controls can be disabled from the game's settings menu. To do this, follow these steps :
- Press the + button on your controller to open the saddlebag menu.
- Now use the R button to scroll through the sections all the way to the right.
- You have to move to the tab with the gear symbol.
- When you reach this tab, you will be in the "Menu" options; select "Settings".
- Within the settings, scroll to the "Motion controls" option.
As we said before, by default this option is activated, so you will have to change it from "Yes" to "No" to deactivate it.
While the gyroscope is activated it directly affects the way you aim the bow or use the Ultra Hand ability, as you can rotate your controller to make movements within the game. However, you may feel that this really takes away from your precision or that it seems complicated to use.
The good news is that whenever you want you can go to the settings menu to change it. Maybe later in the adventure, you'll want to try it.
