Synopsis of Jujutsu Kaisen
The plot of Jujutsu Kaisen takes place in a universe where occult energy exists in the form of demons called Scourges, born from the negative emotions of Humans. Only a few individuals, called Exorcists, have the ability to see and interact with these creatures, thereby controlling their emotions and occult energy. The Exorcists' mission is to eliminate the Scourges in order to protect non-exorcist humans, as these entities can only be defeated with occult energy.
Yūji Itadori, an ordinary high school student with extraordinary strength and a member of a spiritualism club, accidentally discovers an S-rank relic, imbued with occult energy and sealed. His club friends, Sasaki and Iguchi, inspect the relic while Yūji is in the hospital following the death of his grandfather.
This relic turns out to be one of the 20 fingers of Ryōmen Sukuna, the most powerful Scourge. While releasing the seal, Sasaki and Iguchi are attacked by a multitude of Scourges. Yūji, informed of the situation, returns to high school with an exorcist to save his friends.
During the confrontation, Yūji decides to ingest the relic to increase his power and protect his friends. Ryōmen Sukuna briefly takes possession of his body, but Yūji surprisingly manages to regain control. The exorcists initially plan to sentence Yūji to death to eliminate the threat of Sukuna. However, under the intervention of Satoru Gojo, the most powerful of the exorcists, they ultimately choose to use Yūji as a vessel for Sukuna, planning to kill him once he has absorbed all of the latter's fingers. This is the only way to permanently eliminate Sukuna.
Thus begins Yūji's adventure to become a powerful exorcist, protecting the innocent and eradicating the Scourges to save humanity from an unjust death.
