MW3 packet loss, how to solve bursting problem?

How to fix the bursting and packet loss bug in Modern Warfare 3?

If like some players, you're experiencing bursting or packet loss issues on Modern Warfare 3, well, most of the time, it's just due to a problem with the connection to the game's servers. some solutions that can fix this bug.


Restart your router and/or switch to a wired connection

The first thing you can do is restart your router. If the problem persists, you can also try switching to a wired connection if you are connected by WiFi and if this is not possible, try moving closer to your modem.


Relaunch MW3

The second solution is to restart MW3. Most of the time, this restarts your connection to the servers and can resolve this issue.


Disable crossplay

Disabling crossplay only works on consoles since the feature is not available for PC players. To disable crossplay, you will have to do the following actions:


If you are on PS4 or PS5

  • On the main menu, click  Options  then open  Settings
  • Click  Account & Network
  • Once in this menu, you will see the  Crossplay option  in the  Online section
  • All you have to do is set to  Without  to deactivate the functionality

If you're on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S


  • Go to the main settings of the Xbox console
  • Go to the Online Safety & Family tab 
  • Select  Online Privacy & Safety
  • Open  Xbox Privacy  and scroll down to  Communication & Multiplayer
  • Set the cross-network gaming setting to block


Turn off textures on demand

Again, a solution only available to console players. To turn off textures on demand, simply go to Settings, then click on Graphics and Textures on Demand. This can sometimes solve the problem.
