Valve announces the Steam Deck OLED: what price and what features?
Valve, always at the forefront of innovation in the field of video games, recently announced a new OLED version of its Steam Deck. This premium version will stand out with a 7.4-inch OLED screen, offering superior image quality and supporting HDR, compared to the 7-inch of previous models.
In addition to these visual improvements, the Steam Deck OLED will benefit from better Wi-Fi connectivity (6E instead of 5), a more efficient battery (50Whr compared to 40Whr), and thermal improvements for a more comfortable gaming experience. Even with all these improvements, the new model will be 30g lighter.
Players will be able to order the OLED Steam Deck starting November 16, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. GMT, or 7 p.m. Additionally, a limited edition of the 1TB model, with a transparent shell and red buttons, will also be available exclusively in the United States and Canada on the same date.
Valve has also adjusted its lineup by announcing that the 64GB and 512GB LCD versions of the Steam Deck will be phased out. The new options for customers will therefore be:
- 256GB LCD = €419
- 512GB OLED = €569
- 1TB OLED = €679
