How to get the prison key?
The prison key in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is known as the Key of Sacred Lore and can only be obtained by defeating a specific enemy during the adventure, in a specific location.
It is possible to skip the area where you get the key since it is initially optional and is not a path that you cross during the story. However, you should know that you will not be able to get it until you have advanced enough in the main missions, since first of all you need to have unlocked the power of Clairvoyance, during the mission To the Prison of the Sands ( by overcoming the puzzle of the secret rooms ).
When you already have this power, you will have to go to the Sacred Archives room that we show you on this map:
You can reach this upper part of the archives by bouncing off the long blue walls of the main room of the Temple of Knowledge, with Clairvoyance activated. Once at the top, continue east through the hallways and you will come to a door that you can open by stepping on the floor plate.
Sneak into the next room and you will be trapped with a group of enemies, including a jailer. This time you will be able to defeat him without being sent back to prison, so be prepared.
If you manage to eliminate all of these enemies, you will receive the prison key as a reward, which the jailer will drop on the ground. Pick it up to save it in your inventory.
From now on, with the key in your possession, you can now visit several rooms of the prison that were previously inaccessible to find some collectibles and secrets. Additionally, you can also unlock a passage from the prison that leads back to Lower Town and the starting area of the Old Royal Road, which you would not otherwise be able to visit.
