TOP 10: best games for weak PCs in 2023

Last year there were a lot of unoptimized and hardware-demanding games. With the advent of DLSS and FSR, studios stopped carefully polishing their projects, leaving users to deal with performance and problems on their own. In addition, not every gamer has the financial ability to buy a powerful video card and processor, and without them, most major games cannot even be launched. Fortunately, such users are not left completely without entertainment: there are still developers in the industry who try not to overdo it with newfangled effects.

In this collection, we have collected 10 games released in 2023 that can easily be launched on a PC five or even ten years ago. Many of these projects are among the highest-rated games on Steam, which means you have the opportunity to join the cool new products of the past year!

BattleBit Remastered

BattleBit Remastered suddenly appeared out of nowhere and amassed a record number of players on Steam in a matter of days. The project was nicknamed the “Battlefield killer”, and the number of positive reviews exceeded one hundred thousand. This despite the fact that BattleBit is a low-poly shooter that can easily run on any PC. The game has 3 modes, which can accommodate 64, 128, or 254 players at the same time. Matches are found by the system very quickly, so you don't have to wait for the server to fill up. All the key features of Battlefield are in place: large-scale battles, varied equipment, destructible objects, and a stable connection.

If the above is not enough for you to decide whether to play BattleBit Remastered, then we have a detailed opinion, where we talked in detail about all the pros and cons of this creation.

Without a doubt, Blizzard has created a fun game with a lot of content, a good story, a dynamic combat system, and incredibly detailed gothic locations. Blizzard tried to make the game as accessible as possible, so it runs without problems on most not-so-top-end configurations. Darkest Dungeon 2

Darkest Dungeon 2 is a sequel to the hardcore Dungeon Crawl, which does not develop the formula of the original but completely changes it, offering a completely new game. Fans who enjoyed suffering in the first game will find a lot to offer in the sequel and will have a lot of fun as the original combat system evolves. Beginners will experience the hardcore nature of Darkest Dungeon without the “stifling” wanderings through the monotonous dungeons of the first part. The game came out of Early Access in 2023 with a polished balance and plenty of content.

The developers of Darkest Dungeon 2 retained the visual style of the first part, but at the same time transferred all the art to full 3D. The game began to look much better but without any special requirements for powerful hardware. Overall, one of the best indie games of 2023, which we recommend checking out.

Minimum :

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit);
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 4460 or AMD Athlon X4;
  • RAM: 8 GB;

  • RAM: 16 GB;
  • Disk space: 6 GB of free space;
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 or AMD Radeon R7 370.

Blasphemous 2

Blasphemous 2 is an excellent sequel to the 2D souls-like action game with Metroidvania elements. The sequel enhances the original in almost every way. The developers have significantly improved the combat system by adding new types of weapons. The soundtrack has been replenished with memorable compositions. Puzzles have become more ingenious. Extreme complexity is a thing of the past. Battles in Blasphemous 2 have become easier, which will undoubtedly please players who missed the original due to the unbearably stuffy bosses.

It's still a visually beautiful game that will appeal not only to Dark Souls fans but also to fans of hardcore platformers with intense combat. Thanks to pixel art and the absence of newfangled effects, the game runs great on “ancient” hardware. The only drawback is the inexpressive cutscenes, which were implemented in anime style. It’s very unpleasant that they stand out against the background of the general visual.

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit);
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or AMD Phenom 2 X2 550;
  • RAM: 4 GB;

  • OS: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit);
